25.01.2022 Hi all! Just an update on the times of closure for the Old Railway Station.... Rather than be closed the whole time between 15th December and the 16th February, one of our wonderful members has volunteered to man the Station each and every weekend so it will be open each Saturday and Sunday between 11.00am and 1.00pm!!... Here's hoping you get a chance to come and visit!
21.01.2022 Are you in need of a cool space for a wedding? Have you thought of having your wedding service at the Old Burra Railway Station? There is the Tea Room for that smaller wedding space or the platform for the outdoor wedding that is still under cover. It's also great for photographs with the old rails and rolling hills as well as the building itself.
21.01.2022 Hi all you Station fans!!! Well the holiday season is done until the next one, kids have returned to start the school year and The Old Burra Railway Station is almost ready to start being open 7 days a week again. Just reminding every one that we begin on the 16th February!... We are open on weekends only until then. Hope to see you there!!

17.01.2022 Hi people and welcome to the FB page for our favorite Old Railway Station! We are officially called the Friends of the Burra Railway Station and we are the caretakers and guides that you see when you visit this wonderful old building. It was built in 1888 and the last train left from here in 1999. Interested in learning more? Come visit us.........we are here to show you through from 11.00AM to 1.00PM each and every day.
15.01.2022 Just checking out the latest Qantas Mag and found that Burra, along with quite a few other Mid-North towns have been promoted. What caught my attention was this little pearl 'Burra’s old railway station has also received some much needed care, restored by 78-year-old Roy Taplin and other volunteers.' With loving care and dedication the Burra Railway Station has indeed been restored to it's former glory as our header photograph shows. ... We are so excited about the fact that it is now open for all to see, that we would love those who have already 'liked' this page, to invite all your friends to also 'like' it in the hope that the word will travel. 15.01.2022 A beautiful wedding ceremony was held on the Platform of the Old Burra Railway Station in September........can you imagine yourself in the place of this beautiful Bride and her Husband to be? Stunning backdrop for photos and a wonderful atmospheric feel all round.
12.01.2022 Happy New Year all you Old Burra Railway fans!!! May your celebrations see you safe and may the new year bring with it good health, love, laughter and all the best things in life.
12.01.2022 Hi all! Because the official opening was an invitation only affair, we have decided to have an 'open weekend' on May 9th and 10th from 10am to 4pm for all those who would like to come and have a look at what has been done. There will be an entry fee of $5 per person or $15 per family but this will include either a devonshire tea or hot soup and damper. The fires will be lit and tables set up in the original 'Tea Room' so you can get a sense of what the Station was like in ...it's hayday. We would love to see you there!! Everyone welcome!!

07.01.2022 Hi all! We would like to thank Mr John Bowden from Clare, who was a relief Station Master back in the 1960's/70's, for his most generous donation of a telephone of the era to the Station. It is one that hangs on the wall so once we have had it installed a picture of it in situe will be posted for all to see.
