22.01.2022 Just letting everyone know.....!!!! We will be CLOSED tomorrow Saturday 30th of May due to another scheduled power outage for Ergon upgrades and maintenance. We will be OPEN 8am Sunday ready for breakfast and coffee. ... This is the last scheduled one that we know of so we should have no more interruptions after this one. 15.01.2022 So great to be working with our daughter Sabrina! Welcome to Quilpie!!!! No matter how old they are, its still difficult when you live so far from each other. Im sure there are Mums and Dads that can relate? The last time she was in the cafe was when she was 3 years old!! I know some of you will remember. Her experience, work ethic and her attention to detail compliments the Empire Cafe Team. We might not be perfect, but we all get the job done. Thank you to all our sta...ff. I can almost feel Dad and how proud he must be too. Eventho the name has changed, it feels a bit nostalgic to me. So very moving to hear the stories from customers about their experience with Dad and the cafe. "The good, the bad and the ugly". (Quote from one of his favourite movies). It still chokes me up when people say "he would be proud". Interestingly, even some tourists have stories from their last visit, whether it was a year ago or 12 years ago. All have said they will be back again. :) Covid has put a spanner in the works and has been a challenging time for everyone, but we are very grateful to the local community for your support. Without you, we are nothing. Thank you.

11.01.2022 We want to do a huge thank you for everyones patience tonight. We were a little overwhelmed and the kitchen was FULLY tested to the limit. Not just mine and Simons limit but everything was at its max from fryers to the grill. Everytime I looked up there was a sea of people and a line up of orders! Its Wednesday!! Whats going on?!? lol. I hope everyone got what they wanted and it was all good and extra tasty. :) All of your support and directing people to us is very humbl...ing and we appreciate it. We are getting new people every day and thats not including tourists, yet! A few have come through but Im sure it will pick up over the next few weeks/months. Again, thank you! We shall now pass out.
