22.01.2022 Thank you so much Cathy for your kind words: Fabulous, Fabulous, Fabulous! The Old School House is simply...a haven away from the hustle and bustle. Glenda has stocked the house with every conceivable object you could want, and you merely have to bring a change of clothes. The renovated schoolhouse is quirky, spacious, and interesting, the rooms sparkling clean, the fire laid and lit, the bathroom heater turned on in advance along with the electric blanket - all in preparatio...n for a good night's rest. All thoughtful and appreciated touches. The house is also very private, and as you sit and rest in the woven cane armchairs, you have a lovely view of the distant hills from the enormous back verandah. Take a book, or two, or read the magazines and books lying around the place ... and listen to the abundant bird life. Breakfast is provided, and you have the place entirely to yourselves - ideal for that relaxing, romantic weekend away! We were sad to leave and will definitely return. 18.01.2022 Escaping working from home, Martin stayed for a week to work from the Old Schoolhouse. Here is what he had to say... 'For those looking for quiet, peace and some country charm, the old school hall has it all. Situated in the beautiful NSW Southern Tablelands, the country views are spectacular and the historic old school hall (built 1901) is a charming place suitable for writers, executives and of course those just looking to get away from urban concrete jungle. Modern amenit...ies mix with period features and furniture, the old school also has a view that one could admire every evening on the verandah while sipping a beer or wine. In the winter you could simply get the fire going and sip your drink of choice while reading the latest book to get away from the social media craziness. Glenda is a wonderful hosts, communication is great and she ensures you are well looked after. Never any problems but if there was, I'm sure Glenda would promptly resolve them. The location is just outside the historic town of Yass, with nearby towns like Boorowa and the country drives up and around the Lachlan Valley showcases the regions fine agricultural produce. Or you can simply cook in the old school hall's commercial grade kitchen. For the urbanites, Canberra is never far away. I would recommend the old school hall as a great place to unwind, do some solitary work or just to see what Country means to Australians.' See more
