25.01.2022 Traditional Chinese Restoratives - "Your Tea" now in stock

25.01.2022 Today feels like ossobuco weather... lucky we have some great cuts from @dirtycleanfood today. We’re taking inspo from @skyemcalpine and her heavenly buttery so...ft Ossobuco w/ sage and lemon ~INGREDIENTS~ 4 x ossobuco pieces 25g plain flour 8 T EVOO 50g salted butter (plus extra to reheat if needed) 1/2 onion finely chopped 1 fennel bulb finely chopped 2 celery sticks finely chopped 3 pared strips of lemon zest 1 small bunch of sage leaves 200ml white wine 200ml chicken stock Sea salt flakes *** ciabatta and risotto to serve ~INSTRUCTIONS~ 1/ Dust the meat in flour. Add half the oil to a casserole dish wide enough to hold the ossobuco pieces in a single layer, set it over high heat, add 2 pieces of meat and brown both sides for roughly 5 minutes, until golden and crusted. Set aside and repeat with the rest of oil and meat. 2/ reduce the heat to medium. Add 3/4 of the butter and when it melts, the onion, celery, fennel and a generous pinch of salt, then cook until soft. Add the lemon zest and sage and cook for a few minutes more. Increase the heat to high and pour in wine. Lay all the meat back into the dish over the vegetables and let the wine bubble away until reduced by half. Pour in the stock and return to simmer. Cover the dish, reduce the heat to low and leave to simmer for 2-2&1/2 hours, turning the meat every half hour until the meat is tender enough to cut with a spoon. 3/ Add the last of the butter to the dish and leave it to melt before serving #slowfood #weekendfood #dinnerinspo #winterfood #ossobuco

10.01.2022 ORGANIC YOUNG JACKFRUIT Inside this can you’ll find a jackfruit of all trades. It’s a fruit with the mystic ability of a culinary chameleon a mingle on the hob with some herbs and spices, and this fibrous fruit has a taste and consistency similar to shredded meat. It’s a sustainable crop, with a single tree yielding two to three tonnes of nutritious fruit every year, with minimal maintenance. Here's a recipe for BBQ jackfruit tacos! https://ceres.co.nz/recipes/mains/barbecue-jackfruit-tacos/

08.01.2022 Stress balls. Thought these were a perfect first recipe to share with you all As promised. Given my entire career has been based around DIY, granny skills, self... sufficiency and sustainability I want to share as much with you all as I can in these tough times. Simply take some cotton wool balls, put about 15 drops of your favourite essential oils (Lavender and Rosemary are great for anxiety) on them and along with some dried herbs and flowers like lavender, rosemary, basil and rose petals, chamomile and peppermint, wrap them up in a little bundle in some muslin or cotton cloth, tied with string. Throw it in your handbag or pocket and when stress strikes, squeeze and smell! The power of smell and squash. Just a little thing amid a big crisis. . . . . #ecoanxiety #climatecrisis #littlethings #herbs #stressrelief #handmade #theartofthenaturalhome #herbsforhealth #powerofsmell See more

Lightly grease a work surface with a little bit of olive oil and then roll out each ball of dough to approximately the size of a saucer. 5. Once the pan is very hot, cook the flatbreads, one at a time, for 20 seconds on each side, or until covered in brown spots. 6. Place flatbread on a cooling rack until ready to serve. 01.01.2022 Would you put all of these in your yellow lidded recycling bin? But some don’t show the triangle with a number inside Consumer plastics often show a t...riangle with a number inside, collectively this is known as the resin (or plastic) identification code. It tells us the type of plastic the item is made from, not if it can go in our yellow bins. And no number doesn't mean it can’t go in our recycling bin. Most rigid/hard plastics that 'hold their shape' can go in, with expanded polystyrene foam (code 6) being the main exception. So even though we don’t have to look for the symbol, it doesn’t hurt to know some basic information about each of the plastic types. The plastic shown in these photos is plastic code 1 which is Polyethylene terephthalate (shown as PET, PETE or rPET): one of the most widely produced plastics highly recyclable clear has the highest market value wide applications as 'polyester' fibre can be recycled into new packaging or used in textiles Why is there no PET water bottle in the image this is an easy one to refuse the few that I have picked up won't go in the kerbside bin as they can be sent on a direct path by dropping at my local Scout Recycling Centre Karen #PETplastic #refuse #reduce #reuse then #recycle
