Grass has greened nicely and mowing co...ntactors are flat out, but keep an eye on your plants for possible trace element deficiencies. TEs can be leached from the soil quite quickly after large rain events. Elemental deficiencies in plants are common but are hard to diagnose without a leaf tissue analysis. Furthermore, common symptoms may occur when one or a multitude of elements are deficient. 09.01.2022 A solid read. Amazing thing this "living" soil. Given there can be a trillion micro organisms in a teaspoon of healthy soil, the interactions are infinite.its ...a war down there. We talk about CO2 in our atmosphere were levels are about 400ppm (0.04%), in the soil atmosphere (the air between the soil aggregates) the CO2 level can be as high as 100,000ppm (10%). When the earth heats during the day the CO2 is exuded into our atmosphere where much is absorbed by plants via the stomata on the underside of the leaves as part of the photosynthetic process. During the night, when the air & earth contracts, fresh air is drawn into the soil, to replenish and nourish the soil and its microbial inhabitants. This breathing cycle has continued every day since the dawn of time. Those that grow crops and ignore the soil life do so to their own detriment. See more
