21.01.2022 just chillin in the backyard... lazy sunday..

20.01.2022 To all of you who ride pushbikes or jog and share the pathways with dogs and walkers, PLEASE ring your bell or announce that you are behind me as i am slightly hearing impaired and i don't hear you coming... several times i have been startled by riders that pass close to me and don't signal they are doing it... Not only do you startle the owner but also the dog is affected by the reaction of the walker, only recently while walking back from the beach i had three cyclists coming toward me and two joggers behind me and when the jogger tried to pass on the inside left my dog jumped and ended up on the road.... Please be more aware of whom you share the pathways with. Thank you

13.01.2022 Hey Bunbury, dog walking and training available, please call the pack leader for information. 0412309325. Most issues can be sorted quickly and efficiently by training the humans, the dogs just need the right directions and they will follow your commands. Remember dogs are dogs first, we need to allow them to be what they are so they can have fulfilling lives. Its not really funny if you have a dog that runs around the pool barking constantly, chases shadows or "guards you" from family members, these are all signs of inbalance and psychological issues that need to be addressed. Lets stop shelters and pounds putting dogs down because they don't know how to rehabilitate and change the behaviours simply because they just don't have the right insight to the dogs psychology.

11.01.2022 oh boy, been busy with the move to Perth and the house reno. The pupps love the new place. hug shed and yard... awesome.

11.01.2022 When toilet training a puppy it is your job to take them outside every 20 mins to see if they need to go, and to praise them when they do, this is how a puppy learns toilet etiquette, rubbing their nose in it does not work.... that is just a human reaction to a very instinctive behaviour, when they need to go they will regardless of where they are because they are babies and we need to remember that. House training a puppy will not take long, as long as you are prepared to put in the effort to start with.

09.01.2022 Bear in mind when you are out walking that most public open spaces are NOT off leash areas. Although my dogs are well trained and will walk with me when off leash it is irresponsible to allow your dog to wander in public areas where other dogs will be. Remember that not all dogs you come across will be social and you are putting yourself and your pet at risk. I have a dog who is fearful aggressive and has been attacked by off leash dogs, she now sees all off leash dogs as a t...hreat and becomes instantly aggressive, a problem that i am working with daily; but this issue will only get better if other dog owners are aware of what triggers this reaction in my dog and other dogs with the same insecurities. Often the eye contact and body language of an approaching dog can send my female into a red zone within 1 second. I am then left with a dog that has to be placed on the ground until she calms down, the other dog owners do not understand the psychological reasoning for this and seem to feel that my dog is the problem.... Please let me help you or ask me what i am doing if you see me and my dogs when they are being controlled. A well balanced dog who is happy to play follower in your pack will not walk in front of you, they will happily take a back seat on walks and will not drag you, or walk in front especially when another dog is approaching. WARNING: When your dog, regardless of size starts to pull on the lead in the direction of another dog, head low and maintaining eye contact with the approaching dog they are actually displaying body language that can start a fight..Be aware, an insecure dog can start a fight within a second if they respond to this type of body language. We then see the aggressive behaviour of the insecure dog as the instigator, in reality the other dog has started the fight by putting out signals.... We need to be able to understand what our dogs are saying through their body language so that we can all enjoy dog time together.. till next time keep smiling. See more

08.01.2022 Hi all, I am working with a new dog and owner today and the dog is a rescue, She is an 8-10 month old ridgeback/ pit/ lab cross with a strong hunting instinct a...nd totally unsuitable for her new home, but the owner has decided to persevere and put in some serious effort with the training. My point is : when selecting a dog to take onto your home, interact and play with it if you can, watch it for a while ask if any training has been done, have they noticed any issues? after all you are choosing the right dog to fit into your family. Like my new pet owner she chose her new dog by appearance and she thought that the dog was low energy because in the cage she was not very motivated!! all dogs deserve the best home possible and sometimes the dog we are attracted to might not be the best fit for your family. If you would like any help with a dog that you have just adopted or need some help picking the one that is best for you call me, I am happy to offer my assistance, i was shocked to learn that no training had been done prior to re-homing this lovely female to her new home. So far in three sessions we have mastered the art of walking with her and not being dragged down the road by her, she is learning to come when called but is easily distracted and is beginning to understand that her new mum is the boss!!. she is able to stay and wait until she is called and today we worked on coming back when she is called from a long lead.... For any training or behaviour corrections that you might need call me, The Pack Leader. 0412309325 . Have a great day, Michelle See more
