25.01.2022 A rural dressmaker may have made this circa 1940s, or it could be earlier. A beauty that stood the test of time and came out ready to be worn again. 21.01.2022 In 1965, Carla Zampatti produced her first small collection for Zampatti Pty Limited, followed two years later by a national launch, and in 1970, by the establishment of Carla Zampatti Limited. She opened her first boutique in 1972 in Surry Hills, Sydney. Over the next three years, boutiques were opened in Mosman, Double Bay and Elizabeth Street, Sydney, growing the Carla Zampatti Pty Ltd company to create a chain of 30 Carla Zampatti boutiques and concept stores across Austr...alia. With the growth of the label, Zampatti moved into David Jones in 1990 and Myer stores in 1992. Australian singer of Italian descent, Tina Arena, is known to wear her pieces, as are other Australian icons Princess Mary of Denmark, Dannii Minogue, Delta Goodrem and Ita Buttrose. 21.01.2022 Oh the pleasure and the pain. This is a very wounded bird. A Van Roth cream and lace dress. This poor beauty is suffering from a rather ripped lace top and a missing button. I’m sure someone will love it though and I’ll be listing it over the weekend for a sewing extraordinaire who can save it and give it a new life.

02.01.2022 This absolutely gorgeous two piece suit by Marsha Mayne of Brisbane made with finest Irish linen blend from Northern Ireland is now available. This was probably someone’s going away outfit in the early 1960s so I do hope the happy couple lived happily ever after. Marsha Mayne was a Queensland designer. Some of her work is now displayed as part of a clothing collection in the Queensland Museum in Townsville. I was waiting to take this to the dry cleaner to get out some water m...arks on the jacket, which I’m positive will come out but I haven’t been able to since lockdown here in Melbourne.
