25.01.2022 3 Old favorites being added to the menu (apple pie, trifle & steamed jam pudding).

17.01.2022 Thankyou to all our friends and those who supported us over the past few years (especially the tourists and travelers), however we have now sold our business and premises and moved to Willaura, about 35km south of Ararat to continue with our Art Gallery, Picture Framing Business and Architectural Design Practice, and hopefully have time to do more painting in the Art Studio. Willaura is a great place with very friendly, welcoming and helpful people with the BEST BAKERY only a... few doors away who make great bread and much more. Our first night here was spent at the home of one of the local people who also cooked a roast dinner for us and gave us a large warm bed to sleep in - the friendliness here is absolutely amazing. We needed to have 4 rooms with new concrete floors, which are nearly completed (we've only been here just over 2 weeks), and already have many offers of help and work. We hope to have the Business fully operating soon after Christmas. If you are on the way to the Grampians please visit Willaura - it's becoming a great Art hub, with a fantastic Public Art Gallery in the recently restored historic Train Station and Candle Factory - visit "Willaura Modern" on Face Book and also "A Town Called Willaura". BEST MOVE WE EVER MADE. Thanks again to our elderly widows of Avoca who supported us about every 4 weeks and our older car restoring gentlemen and retired "Truckies" from around the district who spent almost every Friday with us for over 3 years. Thankyou to all the local people who supported the Picture Framing Business. See more

13.01.2022 Hi from McMurray Galleries in Willaura. Maddie & Laurie have decided to go ahead with "The Palette 60's era Coffee, Food and Pancake Parlour" in the "little sho...p next to the main Art Gallery and Picture Framing Shop. As this will take quite a few dollars to refurbish to health regulations (we have most equipment from our previous shop in Avoca), we have decided to try and sell all our Art Collections (from 1800's to today) at a "no reasonable offer refused" price. Gallery prices range from a few dollars to about $5000. There is about $150,000 in total. We will be keeping most of my work as a Studio Gallery only, as well as the Picture Framing Shop. The work can be viewed on the McMurray Galleries page on facebook or come and see us. This will be put on as many sites as possible. You can also view "The Palette" on it,s facebook page that we had in Avoca. See more

12.01.2022 A few framing jobs to complete in the Picture Framing Shop. Checked out the price of a new bench top at mitre 10 - will get it soon and timber for the framework. We have the double bowl sink - I'm building it myself ( I did have a design & construct business) if my legs let me - Maddie is my helper for low down work. We have a second hand Italian Esspresso machine at my daughter's place in Bendigo. We have previously had new water pipes and sewer lines put in, and the shop has power and phone. Will keep every one posted as to the progress. A few jobs at the cottage will have to be put on hold at the moment.

12.01.2022 We have now sold this business about 2 months ago.

10.01.2022 This is the little shop next to the main Art Gallery and Picture Framing Shop at 64 Main Street, Willaura, Victoria, 3379 that we are converting to our work area for the "Pancake Shop". We will be having "al-fresco" dining and hope to convert the small courtyard beside it to have a roof over with tables and chairs. At this stage it will be mainly a "fine" weather venue. We will probably also have milk shakes, crepes and a pikelet sized pancake Devonshire Teas, icecream Sundaes, Banana Splits and of course coffee, tea and hot chocolate. We will keep our options open to having inside dining next door at the main Gallery in the long term with a bit of re-arranging for the Picture Framing area. We will probably have to alter our opening hours to include Sundays.

08.01.2022 We have decided to expand our facilities for The Palette Pancake Parlour and are in the process of making a larger kitchen at the rear quarter of the main building where we already have a sink and 315 litre hot water system. We are able to add another double bowl sink and more benches for prep and cooking - plus a lot of shelving for storage and frigs. The work is well under way as we have frigs and a bench top oven to cook our roast in (having one tonight). We will now have ...our Coffee Machine (in Bendigo at my daughter's at the moment) in the front corner of the shop, along with the milk shake and sundae equipment. Their will be seating for up to 5 or 6 only in side as all the rest will be alfresco under the verandah, as the Vic. Govt. is promoting. The main work area for the Picture Framing has been relocated behind the wall at the front. Hopefully we will be ready before Christmas. See more
