21.01.2022 Hey everyone. I hope you are really well, and I really mean that. I wanted to let you know that we’ll be doing everything we can to stay open over the coming months. It’s going to be hard and uncertain, but hopefully with a bit of flexibility, and dedication, we might be able to keep going. ... We’re going to change things up a bit, and if you haven’t seen already, we’re now providing take-away service from the front window. It’s still the same great coffee and homemade food, just with a little less ambiance and atmosphere. That said, we’re going to stop doing the big sandwiches and fresh salads and move more towards hearty soups, bakes, breads, and our homemade pastries, pies and sweet treats. As this situation evolves we’ll stay close to the news, health experts and advice from public offices. We don’t know what to expect, except that we need to do everything we can to avoid, yet be prepared for this situation to get a lot worse. To that end, if you feel sick, or are experiencing any flu or virus like symptoms, please don’t come to the cafe. We love to see every single one of you, but not if you’re putting others at risk. If you’re sick, call your doctor and stay at home, please, please, please. While we work out what ‘normal’ now means, we’ll also do our best to keep you informed on social media, by email and, hopefully in person. In addition to a revised menu and new window service, we’re also going to start closing at 2.30pm Tuesday to Saturday. Same opening time as normal (7.30am) but closing earlier lets us cook more. For now, a huge thank you for all the support and words of encouragement. You’re amazing and we’re so lucky to cook for you. Please stay safe, hopeful and kind. Lots of love, Alex

21.01.2022 Hi there, Thank you so much for supporting us at the Peninsula Cafe (aka the old Nubeena Bakery) over the past few weeks. It looks like with the latest government announcement, we're going to have to shut the cafe take-away service window until further notice. It's hugely sad, and scary, but we can't guarantee that only 2 customers will come at a time.... We're not giving up though, we have a kitchen, and an amazing team of people who want to cook for you, and we have access to food and some really great recipes. I'm not sure exactly what it will look like, but if we're allowed to cook, and deliver, or have a pick up service by appointment, then we will do everything we can to get it up and running as soon as possible. I'm going to take the next week or two to try and pull a plan together. It will be somewhat unorthodox and will no doubt change over time, but hopefully we can survive, keep some really great people employed and deliver a little love and warmth back into our amazing community. Please share this with anyone you think would be interested in a pre-order food service. Ask them to email me at [email protected] and simply write "please add me to the list" in the email. 06.01.2022 Thanks to everyone who has come through our doors we have had an awesome week and a bit of trading filled with lots of food and coffee! This is our lot burger- he’s packed with lots of fresh tassie produce and has been one of our best selling items so far! We are open from Tuesday to Saturday 7:30am-7:30pm For brekky we offer double egg and bacon burgers. Packed with two eggs, loads of bacon, onion, house sauce and burger cheese.
