25.01.2022 Leichhardt in ipswich ..early run ..out the centenary ..right at Yomanto . Old Kawai upright tuning a few adjustments ..change of position to optimise Volume and I’m done ..done like a big maccas sausage and egg McMuffin I had my version when I got back ....delicious ..

25.01.2022 A Yamaha U3 in a highly renovated upgraded area of Camp Hill I haven’t been through there for years ..upmarket Coffee shop Old Queenslanders bulldozed and replaced with modern architecture Views of th city landscape ..completely different than the low rent workers houses I knew in the 1980s and 90s ...progress?

25.01.2022 Friday ...headed south to Maclean this morning ..into the open spaces Almost to Flagstone ..wide green meadows ..horses ,a duck And a pearl river upright piano ...a 2000 model 20 years old . These Chinese pianos were rubbish ..so watch out for the older seventies models ..they are a nightmare... this later model ...was good .. not great ..but good ..it hadn’t been tuned ... 24.01.2022 Out to Mount Crosby to raise a Schimmel upright .. up a semitone to A440 ...then dropped into Brookfield On the way back to tune an Alex Steinbach grand .. And ease squeaking peddles ..really hot work today . I guess I will just have get used to it ...the climate I mean ..... It’s up and down like a medicine mans tent show .. 23.01.2022 Pretty ordinary day ...Thornlands to tune an old fifties Beale it was just old ..it tuned up alright ..it needed a fair bit of restoration All the felts replaced .the cabinate refinished ...not worth it Do all that and it’s still old ..anyway it’s tuned to pitch ... then I had to hightail it eastward to Annerley and a Weinbach from ... Scandinavia or Yugoslavia or there abouts ..not bad at all .. The piano wouldn’t go up the stairs of the unit so it’s in the garage They will have to crane it in ...a theme is appearing this week See more

15.01.2022 100 year old Gors Kallmann and Sons , in Bardon....made in Berlin Just before the start of the 1st world war ...they should have stuck to building excellent pianos .. ..this piano was a tone flat and not coming back ..... Just a big old beast of a battleship... so old ..The original finish .. French polish scratched chipped Knocked around blackened by grime in places .....It’s voice was rich and warm ...I liked it .. 10.01.2022 Another free piano ...old as .....got lifted in by crane to its new spot in Chelmer ...it sounded terrible ... Every tuning pin was slipping ...It required a gentle persuasive belt in by hammer and punch ... about 3 mm each pin ...... What a chore that was .. I would suggest getting pianos checked Before the expense of moving them ..I got it tuned up a semi tone flat ...just seemed such a lot of time and effort for an old worn out piano at least it’s playable now ...luckily ...it was 50/50 Wether the bodgee adjustment would work or not There is always a point ...give it a try or not .. 05.01.2022 I did a couple of old Beale’s out Jimboomba way today ... Both had quite acceptable tuning systems ..much to my relief.. They can be ,and have been .a nightmare ...

What a pain ...quite a lot ...of hammers ..have popped Just get the little Yamaha Eterna working And tuned for the grandkids in Redbank Plains Fixed that ..then to Durack a quick repair and a kawai ...
