20.01.2022 The @thepineapplehousebermagui is open tomorrow 10am to 5pm The grand Dunmore Pineapple in the photo stands near Airth in Scotland. The Pineapple was built by John Murray the 4th Earl of Dunmore. It was originally one storey dated 1761. The dome was added after 1777, when Lord Dunmore was brought back, forcibly, from serving as a Governor of Virginia. There, sailors would put a pineapple on the gatepost to announce there return home and that guests were welcome to visit. ... Lord Dunmore announced his return more prominently. There is a local tradition that is was built by Italian workman because the standard of craftsmanship is so high.
