11.01.2022 POWER PLAY FOR LIFE A LIE CAN TRAVEL HALF WAY AROUND THE WORLD WHILE THE TRUTH IS PUTTING ITS SHOES ON Mark Twain is responsible for making this brilliant statement. Power Players understand the brute force that a lie carries when it isn’t arrested by the truth. They also know that the best way to neutralize a lie is to get the real story out there and fast. If a lie is making the rounds get mobilized and quickly. The minute is gets repeated - or worse reported as fact it’...s almost impossible to correct. Many a decent soul has been felled with a lie or half-truth because they (stupidly) thought it would go away all by itself. Getting on the front foot of a lie and telling the real story is a tactic all accomplished Power Players have in their trick bag. They never hesitate for even a second if they think the story has been perverted. No matter how squeaky clean the Power Player, a little mud will always stick. If the truth is at risk, don’t hope for the best. Stop the lie in its tracks and use the truth to do it. THE STORY Somebody told somebody else a white lie about me. It made its way around a staff of three thousand before I even knew it had been said. It wasn’t juicy, like drugs or a saucy affair but it was about a person who had left the company supposedly because of something I’d said. I’d never met this person, had never spoken to this person and to this day I have no idea why she left. If took about three months to un-ring that bell. And it only happened because people started spending enough time with me to see that it wasn’t my style at all. If you get a chance to stamp out the lie early, then give it a shot. - The Power Book, Rose Herceg

03.01.2022 POWER PLAY FOR LIFE REVENGE IS THE POISON WE END UP SWALLOWING OURSELVES Everyone has a revenge fantasy. I’ve had a million. But Power Players know that revenge is the poison we end up swallowing ourselves. Revenge always ends up in a very bad place. Nothing good comes from flexing your angry and vindictive talents. All it does is make you look small and pathetic. Power Players do whatever it takes to stop from exacting some type of revenge they will regret. The best revenge ...is forgiving your enemies: nothing annoys them nearly as much. The other truth Power Players know is that revenge ages you. It’s full of bitterness and rancor and these bad attributes seep into your soul. They make you lose your sense of humour. They make you focus on what you’ve lost rather than on what you have. And the worst thing about revenge: you let your enemy win if you show them how much they’ve rattled you. Ignore them. It’s the only classy way to go. THE STORY A lady who’d love to see me sweat pushes me to the end of my revenge cliff. It’d taken me years but now I simply forgive every single one of her cruel jibes and mean comments. Whatever good stuff is happening in my life I never tell her directly (she hears it from someone else) and then of course she brings it up in a way that is fake congratulatory. She’s the classic frenemy and the love I heap on her makes her crazy and keeps me sane. - The Power Book, Rose Herceg.
