21.01.2022 Advance Health Directive An advance health directive (AHD)sometimes called a living willis a formal way to give instructions about your future health care. It may outline: what medical treatment or health care you want if you can no longer make decisions for yourself. It can be general (e.g. that you wish to receive all available treatment) or specific (e.g. that you wish to decline a certain medical treatment) information that health professionals should know, includin...g health conditions, allergies, and religious, spiritual or cultural beliefs that could affect your care. 19.01.2022 Im not old so why do I need a Will? Having a Will is not a matter of age its a matter of good common sense and should be considered by any everyone over the age of 18. Do you have/had a full or part time job?... Its compulsory for your employer to pay superannuation which may have a life insurance attached. It could be up to $200,000. Do you have a car, motorbike, boat, jet-ski, jewellery, tools, pet, electrical gadgets, house, iTunes account? Do you have parents, siblings, grandparents, kids, blended family, partner girlfriend, boyfriend, de facto, no relatives, wife, husband, and mental illness/disability? Do you have an on and off relationship? (Even weeks or months dating or living with them)? Is she/he a partner or friend in YOUR eyes? Do you care for your family or loved ones? Whether someone has died from accidental death, long or short term illness, if they have died without a valid up to date Will, laws will dictate how the estate will be distributed. Wouldnt you want to have a voice if youre not here? 07.01.2022 What happens to your digital footprint when you are gone? Your digital presence is any place you may appear to still be after you are, well - not. For most of us this means social media accounts such as Facebook, Instagram etc., as well as email accounts and places where your financial details could be exploited such as PayPal and eBay. Make a list of places you exist: Think about social media accounts, forums, shopping sites and anywhere else. Check your emails and jun...k mail for hints as to places youd need to de-register. Make a list of your usernames and passwords: Its not safe to store this sensitive information just on your hard drive, so look to using a secure online service for this like a digital asset vault. Include instructions for accessing this in your Will: Your Will should contain details of who will be executor to your estate, so within this you can include details of how they can access your digital credentials. Leave instructions on what to do: Many relatives think that a memorial page will be nicer than just deleting you off the face of the web, but do you agree? Make sure you tell them thats what you want and make your wishes known. #WillsWeek2020 #WillsWeek #makeyourwishesknown

01.01.2022 Have the Talk Advance life planning is often something thats considered only for people in their later years of life but the reality is that no one can predict what the future holds.
