03.01.2022 JRFC RIVER CLEAN 4/12/19 Yesterday was an extra special day, with the sighting of the Snub Fin Dolphins feeding in the river near devils elbow. The b...oys came across a couple crocs again, which seems to be part of the normal routine these days and we are becoming more familiar with the specific crocodiles and their territories. Although our people are croc wise there is always that danger of the unexpected, so please everybody - BE AWARE, BE CROC WISE! It is their environment we work and play in therefore it is up to us to keep safe. Although we are aware of the risks, our crew is always happy to see a healthy population of crocodiles in our river system. Yesterday we removed just over 200kg of plastics and floating debris and 107kg of heavy metals. This brings the JRFC total of plastics and floating debris removed from the Fitzroy river to 5.6 tonnes this year and total of heavy metals removed is 14.4 tonnes.
