This year team photos will be at a discounted rate of $10 per photo. All proceeds from each photo purchased go to the club

23.01.2022 There are two senior games at Runaway bay tomorrow. The Div3M Blue at 1pm and the Div3W Orange following this. GCHA are looking for someone that may be qualified (ie have a current first aid certificate) and interested in looking after the first aid duties for the 1pm game. GCHA will pay for the service. If you could please respond ASAP if this is of interest that would be appreciated.

20.01.2022 Earlier in the season the Roosters Hockey club ran a Goalkeeper Clinic with National Player Hannah Astbury. From feedback received, the participants enjoyed the session immensely and gained valuable insights to improve their play. The club will look to run similar sessions in the future.

13.01.2022 Just a quick message to let everyone know that we are working through the next stage of planning but because some time is still required to go through all requirements with the centres to get sign off on industry plans, training will remain the same as previous weeks for this week. 11.01.2022 Rooster Spotlight Recently Miranda Hood travelled to Townsville to umpire the U19 State School Girls hockey champs. She umpired 3 games, umpired both quarter finals, one semifinal and was awarded the grand final. Miranda has also now been selected by Queensland School Sports as the QLD 17-19 years team umpire. Unfortunately they wont be touring New Zealand this year due to COVID. ... This is a huge achievement for anyone, but at just 15 it is extra special for Miranda. Congratulations!

02.01.2022 On the Sunday 2nd August the Roosters Hockey club ran a junior skills training session with Roosters homegrown Australian and Queensland representative players Dayle and Casey Dolkens, along with Head Coach Ant Dolkens. The participants broadened their hockey knowledge and skill base, learning different hitting, trapping and passing techniques, understanding the different roles each position on the field must play in a game, the finer points of things like trapping at a short corner or leading into space, to the importance of nutrition in the preparation for a game. From feedback received, the participants enjoyed the session immensely and gained valuable insights to improve their gameplay. The club will look to run similar sessions in the future.
