20.01.2022 LANGUAGE OF THE SOUL GOD’S POWER IN US The Lord who is our God can do all things.... From seeming nothingness he made our Earth, From that same nothingness our Father brings Those qualities which give our lives true worth. He is a specialist in miracles! He points, or speaks, or glances with his eye, And marvelously removes all obstacles His wonder-working power to apply. And he has made me partner in his work! I have become a channel of his grace. And if my role I fill and do not shirk Then I will see his wonders in this place! His representative I’m meant to be He plans to work his mighty power through me. Ephesians 2: 8, 9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God not by works, so that no-one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. With every blessing, Harry. 24.11.20 Language of the Soul, my latest book of prayer poetry is available in every country in paperback or Kindle. 20.01.2022 This came from my ICO session mate in Indonesia. Please pray for those who are ministering in the midst of such unrest. Dear Friends, Please join...ing with us in your prayer for Indonesia Territory. We know that everything under God control. On November 27, unknown people attacked the Salvation Army’s service post in central Sulawesi, burning six houses of church members. Four Christians were murdered, with three being butchered. Around 8 a.m., the Lewonu Lembantongoa Service Post, located in Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi, set up as an outreach effort by the Salvation Army in Indonesia (Bala Keselamatan), was attacked by unknown people. He set the church on fire, burning down six houses of the church members. Out of the four victims, three were hacked to death, while the other was burned. Lembah Tongoa is located in the forest, where access of information and transportation is limited. The Salvation Army is asking for prayers for the family of the victims, for the church, and for the peace of the region.
18.01.2022 So so excited about this!!!
11.01.2022 With the sad news earlier today that four Salvationists have been murdered in Indonesia and corps property burnt to the ground, my prayers and thoughts turn to the song, "Dear Lord and Father of mankind forgive our foolish ways." This setting of the tune Repton is sung by Welsh singer, Aled Jones with verse two featuring him in a duet as a treble with him as an adult. But it is the third verse that captures my attention. It uses a different setting and acts like a quasi choru...s. Drop thy still dews of quietness Till all our strivings cease; Take from our souls the strain and stress, And let our ordered lives confess The beauty of thy peace. Thank you Colin Daley for sharing this.

03.01.2022 Waiting In this instant-everything modern age, we get frustrated if we have to wait for any length of time. 2020 has been a year with so much waiting.... Waiting for lockdowns to end, waiting for news of the virus, waiting to see family and friends, waiting for test results, waiting for instructions, waiting to be able to return to work or school, waiting to be able to go on holiday.....to travel......to get married.....to attend a church service....to have a meal out........and more. The advent season is all about waiting. Maybe a little waiting is a good thing. Here are five things worth reflecting on. 1. WAITING REMINDS US THAT WE ARE NOT THE CENTRE OF THE UNIVERSE. It’s so easy to get caught up in our own plans. 2. WAITING REMINDS US THAT GOD IS IN CONTROL. 3. WAITING REMINDS US THAT LIFE IS A GIFT 4. WAITING REMINDS US THAT THE PRESENT MATTERS. Next is in God’s hands. Now is what we have. 5. WAITING REMINDS US THAT THE FUTURE IS BIGGER THAN WE THINK. Waiting helps us think differently about both the present and the future: valuing the present as a gift, cherishing the future as our ultimate hope. As soon as you enter a waiting room, you start to feel uncomfortable. There is something about the not-knowing how long you will be there for. And then there’s the uncertainty of what the doctor or whoever it is will say when you finally get in. You rehearse what you will say. You get fidgety and keep looking at your watch. The silence is an irritable one; the cloud of stress arising from a room full of people with loud sighs and annoying movements, and their own worries and preoccupations. You make a beeline for the nearest magazine and read with alacrity, wanting to distract yourself, redeem the time somehow. You hover between some banal gossip column and the ticking of the clock, feeling restless and in-between. And then, when the call finally comes, you never feel prepared. It always feels like an unexpected and rude interruption, though it was what you were waiting for, all along. Pregnancy is a time of waiting. The hard thing about those first few weeks of pregnancy is the not knowing really, for sure. I wonder about Mary. What were her thoughts in that in-between time? The time of nurturing that secret? Did she hold on with certainty to the words the angel gave her, or were there moments of doubt, self-questioning? Pregnancy is a decidedly passive way of growing a human. You can’t do anything, you can’t control it or design it, just trust that it is happening. You can but wait, and leave it to nature and the goodness of God. Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. (James 5:7 NIV) We are also called to be ones who wait. For all the doing, the rushing of this life and our Christian endeavours, this is a very passive command. It calls us to trust in what we can’t see, recalling and leaning on God’s words as Mary did, choosing God’s promise over our self-doubt. We wait for Christ’s return, living in the in-between, without knowing when it will be. To wait is to surrender our control. To wait is to trust in God. I want to wait like Mary, in hope, trusting that God is at work in the silence and the dark places. I want to know that He who has promised is faithful, and He will do it. This Christmas song tells the nativity story from Mary's perspective. It portrays the mother of Jesus as a frightened young girl, attempting to deal with the circumstances of giving birth to the Holy Father's Son. Despite her human doubts, Mary's faith in the goodness and mercy of God remain and help her deal with the unique situation she finds herself in. Amy Grant wrote a book titled Breath of Heaven in 2001 based on this song. She wrote in the release of the book that she considers the intimate nature of this tune has transformed it into a prayer. She explained: "It is a prayer that fits a lot of people'' circumstances, because it is a cry of mercy. Breath Of Heaven - Amy Grant I have traveled many moonless nights Cold and weary with a babe inside And I wonder what I've done Holy father you have come And chosen me now to carry your son I am waiting in a silent prayer I am frightened by the load I bear In a world as cold as stone Must I walk this path alone? Be with me now Be with me now Breath of heaven Hold me together Be forever near me Breath of heaven Breath of heaven Lighten my darkness Pour over me your holiness For you are holy Breath of heaven Do you wonder as you watch my face If a wiser one should have had my place But I offer all I am For the mercy of your plan Help me be strong Help me be Help me Breath of heaven Hold me together Be forever near me Breath of heaven Breath of heaven Lighten my darkness Pour over me your holiness For you are holy Breath of heaven Hold me together Be forever near me Breath of heaven Breath of heaven Lighten my darkness Pour over me your holiness For you are holy Breath of heaven Breath of heaven Breath of heaven
