25.01.2022 Well the end of a successful day! Thank you to our wonderful team of volunteers who re-opened our Salvation Army Thrift Store! This generates much needed funds to do our work within the community and provides the community with affordable everyday items should they need them. ... Thank you for all those who choose to shop with us and support The Salvation Army locally! Although we are now all masked up, we are learning to smile with our eyes! See you tomorrow Rochester, we open again at 1030. LT Cam.
22.01.2022 3 ply cloth mask We now have a huge range of styles and colours available at our Rochester Salvation Army Thrift Shop! $7 each... All funds raised directly support the work of The Salvation Army Rochester. The team are also donating 10% of the masks they make, to be handed out free of charge to vulnerable community members locally, and in Melbourne. Well done to our Mask Making Ministry Team!
22.01.2022 T H A N K Y O U As his final term as a councillor for Rochester draws to a close, Rochester Community Page would like to acknowledge the 8 years of dedica...tion that Councillor Leigh Wilson has served in the Rochester ward for our community. Taff, Leigh, Mr Wilson, Senorita El Mayoro, whatever you’d prefer to call him, there is no doubt that Leigh has been a fantastic advocate for Rochester. From representing the Shire in Japan, being the figurehead when the Echuca/Moama bridge finally got approved, to being a tour guide for the Governor General Peter Cosgrove when he visited the region, Leigh’s role in the community has stretched well beyond what the media has covered. No matter where he was, Leigh was always available for a chat or to offer assistance which often meant sharing his social outings and sacrificing personal time. He spent most town markets assisting with setup and pack up, represented Rochester at many events and fundraisers, never clocked off from his role as councillor and I’m sure did a lot more for the community than any of us know about, with a term as mayor thrown in as well. So a huge thank you Leigh for everything you have done for Rochester
20.01.2022 Join us online from 10am tomorrow, Tuesday 29 September, for a virtual Victorian Police Remembrance Day (Victoria) service to honour the fallen police employees... who have made the ultimate sacrifice. This year we honour and remember the four officers who sadly died in Kew on 22 April, as well as the lives of another 19 Victorian Police officers, Victorian Public Service staff and Police Chaplains who died in the last year. See the National Police Remembrance Day (Vic) Facebook Event for full details of how to join the service online https://bit.ly/3jd1YL0 Download the digital service booklet https://bit.ly/3i9NqKP #NPRD2020
19.01.2022 Happy National Grandparents Day! To celebrate, we're showing off three generations of Vinnies Shop volunteers from Vinnies Victoria the Gleesons. Grandparent...s Helen and Brian (left) are dedicated volunteers, along with with their children and grandchildren at the Vinnies Shop in Kilsyth. The kids really enjoy being there and it is good work experience for them. Jade cannot wait until she’s old enough to sign up properly, though the volunteer who sorts the toys sometimes asks her opinion of the different donations we receive. It is inspiring and heart-warming to see how that can spread to other people, Helen said. Thank you Gleesons Happy National Grandparents Day!
18.01.2022 Lest We Forget Thank you for your service. Please pause at 1100 to remember them.

16.01.2022 To say it’s been a challenging time would be an understatement. Every year here in Central Victoria we run a National Police Remembrance Day Service and despite... limitations we thought it was equally, if not more relevant to honour our fallen members in any way we could. The very small service was no doubt a bit different, but held the same significant meaning and was a message of resilience. Normally we represent those who have passed away with a flower, but this year we thought it was important to acknowledge everyone who couldn’t be there. The police hat on a chair symbolises those who are no longer with us, as well as police and the wider community who couldn’t attend in the circumstances. #NPRD
14.01.2022 Every person deserves to come home from work. Today, on Blue Ribbon Day and National Police Remembrance Day, we acknowledge the lives of the 170 police members ...who have lost their lives in the line of duty and stand with Victoria Police, the Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation and our local Blue Ribbon Foundation Echuca to remember those who have fallen and say thank you to those who protect and serve our community, our state and our nation. #BRD2020 Watch today's National Police Remembrance Virtual Event here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uleE9Xps2NY See more

09.01.2022 We would like to advise our loyal customers that our THRIFT SHOP has temporarily changed hours and will now be CLOSED on Mondays for customers but will remain OPEN on Tuesdays & Wednesdays. The hours will be 10.30 am - 12.00. Closed for cleaning and lunch from 12.00-1.00pm and reopen 1.00pm - 2.30pm. Due to stricter regulations the number of people allowed in the Shop is now a maximum of '5'. We would also ask if you would please limit your time in the Shop to 15 minutes or less. Just a reminder that masks must be worn and hand sanitizer used when entering the Shop. To be able to remain open we have had to make these changes and we ask if you would help us by adhering to these restrictions. Thank you for your assistance with this. Our volunteers are working extremely hard to keep the Thrift Shop a safe place to Shop.

Due to COVID we are not accepting furniture items, including these mattresses and bed frames that have been placed here.
