22.01.2022 CANCELLED Yackandandah Folk Festival committee regrets to inform you that we have made the very difficult decision to cancel this years event. The advice from ...the Chief Medical Officer and health officials is that non-essential large gatherings of people should be cancelled as an early measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19. This decision was not taken lightly, however the health of the community is paramount and in light of expert advice it would irresponsible to continue with the event. We extend our sympathies to all those who will be impacted by this decision. This comes at a difficult time for many in our community as we only begin to recover from the recent bushfire tragedy. As a committee we agreed to make the decision early to enable people to plan accordingly. We appreciate and understand that many of you will want to know more information about tickets and volunteering, among others. Please be patient as we take a few moments to gather our thoughts after a long and difficult day. Further committee meetings are scheduled over the weekend to discuss the many details emerging from this decision. We will be contacting all volunteers, ticket holders, vendors and other stakeholders in the coming days. Stay folky YFF Committee See more

17.01.2022 After winning Battle of the Bands and performing at St Kilda Festival early last year, local singer/songwriter Katie Gaston took a brief hiatus to focus on study. Katie is elated to be back from uni to perform new original songs in her signature heartfelt, conversational, acoustic style at what will be her fourth year playing at The Shed. Yack Folky holds a dear place in her heart, and she hopes to see you all there!
15.01.2022 Coconut Disco is a 5 piece hard rock, indie collection of boys that have been around since the dinosaurs. They have one hit single and love chocolate as well as long walks on the beach. They basically created both the coconut and the disco (hence the name). They only have one job... to make your Saturday night at the Yackandandah Folk Fest a wild time. So if you are looking for a boogie head down to the street stage and please we beg you... don't forget your dancing socks!

Our duo was formed early 2019 and we have been making music together in our bedrooms with the use of garageband ever since. We enjoy experimenting with different styles of music and are excited to release more!!

Album aside, though, Odette actually called to chat about looking after our mental health during COVID-19. Isolation has been really challenging," she says. 12.01.2022 'Where's My Dad' is in its founding stages, first imagined by a pair of girls completing the final phase of their VCE music class. D'Arcy and Archer plan on building their duo to a band in the next few months, and this is their first official performance as independent musicians since they graduated high school. The duo previously tossed up the band names 'The Accidents', 'Your Mum' and 'The Disappointments'. Please welcome to the stage 'Where's My Dad'!
11.01.2022 16 year olds Asha Bright (vocals & guitar) and Indigo Walker Stelling (keys) are a duo from Beechworth, Victoria. 2 years ago the duo entered in a Battle of the bands competition which lead them to record their first single 'Jealous'. After the song was released they started to perform at more competitions and local venues. This lead them to become well known in the local area and as a result of all the support they recorded their debut EP 'Understand'. In April 2019 they al...so toured in the UK as part of Dreamfields creative youth program and later in 2019 they also had the amazing opportunity to support Ruby Fields and Baker Boy on their All Ages Tour. Song Writing Sessions is a one-on-one online coaching program for young music makers in the early stages of their music career. Over a 45-minute online session, program participants get the opportunity to workshop one of their own original songs and receive direct feedback from an established Australian songwriter.

05.01.2022 Emerson Lavis is a solo acoustic artist, who covers rock and metal songs from the 1970s to the early 2010s Playing music for 12 years, she performs frequently at festivals, farmers markets and open mic nights in Victoria and New South Wales.
04.01.2022 Joining us this year is Molly Williams a singer/songwriter from Chiltern. Having studied guitar and singing, she released her debut single Oh Dear Darling on Spotify and ITunes in 2019 and is currently working on new songs. Molly started busking at 15 and has recently been invited to perform at Chiltern and Howlong Markets and local pubs. Mollys songwriting reflects her interests and influences including friends and teenage years.

03.01.2022 triple j Unearthed Level Up Grants. As part of ABCs Fresh Start Fund, they're offering fifteen different financial grants to help you level up your music career. The ABCs Fresh Start Fund provides urgent and critical support to independent Australian producers and safeguards local content and creativity in response to the unprecedented impact of COVID-19. There will be five grants offered to one artist from each of the following categories: Bands (indie/rock/roots/folk)... Solo (indie/pop/singer songwriter) Hip hop (rap and R&B) Producers/Dance/Electronic artists Heavy artists (metal/hardcore/punk) Two grants are also on offer for two different Indigenous artists. Last (but certainly not least), there are eight grants for regional artists. One grant will be awarded to an artist from each state and territory.
02.01.2022 Raiyan Galvin is a 13 year old from Numurkah who loves to perform. He covers songs from all different genres, as well as writing and performing his own music. In the past 12 months, Raiyan won the Rising Star award at Mulwala's Got Talent, as well as performing at markets, fetes, community events and attending Open Mic nights. ...
