25.01.2022 This article by The Australian discusses how Plan Jericho will change the role of the RAAF and the future of the #ADF. It raises some important questions that will be covered in our seminar on #PlanJericho, which takes place tomorrow, including: - how the #RAAF can create the appropriate innovation/transformation environment to support the design and implementation of Plan Jericho, - whether or not the RAAF is on track to achieve the future Air Force by design... Feel free to share your thoughts on our Facebook and Twitter pages (https://twitter.com/WilliamsFnd) and watch this space for our post-seminar blog and report

24.01.2022 Another great report has been published on our website by Dr. Robbin Laird called 'The Royal Australian Air Force Shapes a Transformation Strategy'. Dr Laird has been reporting on the RAAF’s Jericho journey since the first Williams ‘5th Gen’ seminar in March 2014, and has been an active and supportive participant in the Williams seminars over the last 18 months. Dr Laird’s report explores and analyses the themes and issues discussed at the seminar on 6 August as well as prese...nting an excellent summary of each of the presentations. He has used an episode from the Battle for Britain as a means of ‘setting the scene’ and highlighting the centrality of a concept of operations to provide the framework and foundation for integrating across platforms and enablers. Dr Laird postulates that without such a conops to support the future 5th generation enabled ADF, our warfighting effectiveness will be sub-optimal. 23.01.2022 Opening address of the Williams Foundation seminar on #PlanJericho by Chief of Air Force Leo Davies, who stated that innovation is key to transforming the #RAAF into "one of the most potent and balanced air forces in the world". Joint coalitions are essential in this future operating environment.

08.01.2022 With our upcoming seminar on Plan Jericho in just under three weeks, this video will help you understand what Plan Jericho is and what it will mean for the #RAAF. For those of you who haven't read it yet, the Williams post-seminar report on LVC also goes into further detail on what Plan Jericho is and how it ties into the future interoperability of the #ADF. 06.01.2022 Exmouth treated to a military display and flypast A FLYPAST of two Hawk 127 jets and a C-17 Globemaster thrilled Exmouth locals and visitors as Exercise Norther...n Shield 2015 concluded on 24 September. The Royal Australian Air Force aircraft conducted a low altitude pass over the town, situated on the tip of the North West Cape in Western Australia. Exercise Northern Shield 2015 involved approximately 1000 Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel and finished with a public display at Talanjee Oval. Exmouth Shire President, Counsellor Turk Shales, was especially impressed with the community engagement that locals had with ADF personnel. "The efficiency and dedication of the soldiers were second to none," he said. "The engagement with the community outside of their own work they had to do was great." "The Australian Defence Force are here to look after us and to look after our country and they were very proficient in everything they did," he said. Commander Deployable Joint Force Headquarters, Major General Stuart Smith AO DSC thanked the Exmouth community for their support and patience during the exercise. "From all of the participants in Exercise Northern Shield, I would like to convey my true appreciation for the patience and the support provided by the people of Exmouth as we have conducted this complex joint force operation," he said. Soldiers from the 6th Battalion Royal Australian Regiment showed off the Bushmaster Personnel Mobility Vehicle, weapons and field kit to hundreds of school kids, parents, teachers, residents and tourists. The Australian Army Tiger Armed Reconnaissance Helicopters were also a huge hit. Eight year-old Lachlan Sansoni and his sisters, Imogen and Amelia, were excited to come to the local oval with their parents to see the helicopters and other military hardware. "I really want to fly one," Lachlan said. "I'm going to join the Army, it's so cool," he said Four year old Samantha Ness tried on a ghillie suit. "I look like a wartime scarecrow," she said. Exercise Northern Shield was the first major military activity to be held in the remote North West Region practicing the ADF's ability to quickly deploy a large joint force across vast distances. It incorporated force preparation activities, Special Forces activities, land force manoeuvre, air mobile operations and maritime activities with high-readiness forces deploying in response to a simulated security threat.
