23.01.2022 What direction are you moving in? When we sit down and talk with our new clients we ask our clients who is your target audience? 9/10 times, our clients reply with everyone. The truth is, no one's target audience is everyone. ... Sure, it would be nice to sell to everyone and that’s always the overall goal but this goal is incredibly unrealistic. However, instead, you can strategically breakdown, identify, and understand your target audience and truly begin to dominate your niche. Our job as an agency and as social media marketers is to focus and market to those most likely to purchase. This has a huge impact on the imagery, feed layouts, brand voice, when the content is posted and more importantly what kind of content is posted and on what platforms. We recommend all of our clients to go away and seriously think about how they want their ideal target audience to look like. Some of the questions we ask... How old are they? Where do they live? What is their occupation? What is their income? Where do they generally shop? (this can tell us a lot) How do they dress? What is their gender? What are their interests? What are their hobbies? How do they like to spend their time? What does their typical day look like? Where do they spend their time online? What social media platforms do they spend most of their time on? Having a strong target audience vision can ensure that the marketing strategies are focused and not wasted on trying to target the wrong audience's (everyone) You may also not be reaching as many people if you wanted to try to target everyone (the impossible), but wouldn’t you rather target a smaller audience who can relate and engage with your brand to help you achieve your marketing objectives? 20.01.2022 Hello!!! It’s me!!! I’m Kayla , and I am the director of The Social Media Hub. After a year in business, I thought it was time to say hello. So here I am, my friends know me as a hilarious, girly, tomb boy. 20% hilarious, 40% girly, 40% tomboy.... My background is originally in Beauty, I quite literally fell into the beauty industry 18 years ago having previously wanted to be a mechanic or a PE teacher. Having worked for franchises and in spas, afI decided to open my own salon, focusing solely on the treatments I was 100% passionate about (lash and brows) I quickly grew a successful beauty business which I owned and operated for 5 incredible years. From there I was lucky enough to be given an opportunity to work as a brand and product trainer for a global beauty company, teaching aspiring therapist and individuals the art of lash extensions, lash lifting and precision brows. Needless to say striving for perfection and an incredible eye for detail runs through my veins. The company was growing at a rapid rate and having always had an interest in social media and marketing I swiftly moved from trainer to fill the void as marketing and social media manager, and began my studies in social media marketing. After my second child and completing my studies, I transitioned from my wonderful work place (who I still consult for to this day) to what is now called The Social Media Hub. My passion, is purely helping business, the pure love I have for my clients and helping them to achieve their dreams in their business is what gets me out of bed every day. I love using my creativity to showcase brands to their fullest potential and creating social media presences for business that are engaging, relatable and reflect their brand. 10.01.2022 Do you add value to your posts? Having been a beauty therapist/salon owner myself, I know the fluffy expectation society has on the beauty industry. Everything is meant to be pretty because as far as the outside world knows, that’s all we know how to do, make things pretty (if only the job was that easy right?) And that has flowed into our own work, piggy backing on society and creating what society expects of us, a pretty presence on social media. I’m sure... we can all agree, we are far much more than that! Now I’m not saying anything is wrong with that. Pretty is great, fluff is wonderful. But clients are becoming more savvy, they want to know the inside and out of the latest beauty treatments, delivery systems, real results and they want to know YOU and your staff, there is far more competition on social media and in the beauty industry and these days a stand alone pretty pictures just doesn’t cut it. We need to be more conscious with what and how we post. Again, I’m not saying not to post the pretty aesthetic pictures that look pleasing on your feed, what I am saying is, do it with purpose. Not just with the pretty images but with all images. Give your followers a REAL REASON to like, comment, save or share your post. You want your clients to be engaging with you. Liking, commenting, sharing your content with their friends, family and their own followers helping you with organic growth and engagement. It’s just like verbal referral (the best kind of marketing) Try spending some time posting with purpose and adding value, put yourself in the followers shoes, what would the love to learn and see from you? So many businesses are so driven by having 10k followers, 100k followers, 250k followers and don’t seem to mind.... A) where the followers come from B) if the followers are within your businesses target demographic... Or C) paying for followers When trying to grow your business at any cost, ask yourself this... Would you rather have 10k followers who don’t engage with your content, don’t visit your business, website, shopfront and basically make you zero $, just for the sake of you looking good or would you rather have 50 (yes 50) dedicated followers, who love and engage with your content, support and share your content, purchase from you, recommend you and by doing so drive sales to your business?
