25.01.2022 Here we go again, riding the coronavirus waves. Funnily enough I’m feeling surprisingly good going into this lockdown. I know what to expect and how to prepare for the next 6 weeks for myself and my clients. We’ve done this before and we can do it again! How are you feeling entering lockdown 2.0?

25.01.2022 My job often clashes with my other job, being a mum. During the week, my focus has been on client work; preparing for click frenzy, and my Melbourne businesses reopening. There was SO much I had to get done. All the while, my other job as a mum was coming at me in full force. If you’re a mum then you know we always have a long to-do list, and I was trying to keep up, but I was basically drowning. To get my shit together, I desperately needed to take an RDO from biz life to ...get Mum life sorted. I’ve been battling with myself all week to take time off in my business, and I felt like I was being pulled in all directions. So, what did I learn from all of this? Running a business and working from home teaches you many lessons, and you have overcome them. But you can't do it all, there are times when your going feel stretched, but you have to bite the bullet and let one thing go so you can catch up on something else. When you do that, everything falls back into place. What have your learnt since starting your biz?

25.01.2022 It’s hard to show up on stories without feeling like an absolute fool. You finally pluck up the courage to show up, and it takes you a 100 tries, and not one of them sees the light of day. Don't worry, you're not alone, almost everyone has been in the same position as you, and I don't want you to be so hard on yourself. Here are my tips for showing up on the camera.... Use a filter on your Instagram Stories Take a selfie and write a caption instead of speaking Be prepared and write down some dot points before you begin recording, so you don’t get lost for words or go off-topic Instead of facing the camera towards you, turn the camera around, so it’s facing the subject you are speaking. That way, you're focused on what you're saying. Leave the high expectations behind and accept you won’t get every recording right the first time and that’s ok. I don’t, and I’ve been doing this for a year! How long did it take you to get comfortable showing up on stories?

25.01.2022 In two weeks, I'm having my first portrait shoot.... I'm low key excited. I’m a newbie to this, so I want to be completely prepared for the day and I would love your advice on some do’s and dont’s. What did you wear? Is there something you wish you did? I've got some props organised such as a coffee cup, diaries, camera, iPhone, iPad, and glasses. Am I missing anything?

22.01.2022 Ever wondered how you to add custom fonts to your Instagram Stories? Well, let me show you how. Ps sorry for long tutorial

21.01.2022 Following on from yesterday’s IGTV on how to add multiple images to your Instagram stories, I thought I would show you to add wallpaper backgrounds to your Instagram Stories. What do you guys think of this hack?

20.01.2022 Instagram is a crowded platform, and when it comes to getting results for my clients, I like to ensure I'm optimising the visibility of their profile simply. This way, 1 - Optimise your bio; it's your digital business card. 2 - Create content that focuses on solving a pain point your customer is having. 3 - Use a location tag on EVERY SINGLE POST. If you're targeting a specific area and use a location tag, this will increase your chances of a potential customer finding... your business under that location tag. 4 - Use hashtags to attract traffic to your page. Without them, how will a potential customer find your account? 5 - Stay on top of industry trends like reels that increase your reach. 6 - Create a consistent posting schedule. Instagram loves consistency and so do the users of the platform. 7 - Interact with your followers and other accounts within your industry. 8 - Use CALL TO ACTIONS at the end of your captions. You don't have to do it all the time, but it is a great way to help your followers decide what to do next. 9 - When you're tagged in a story, re-share it to your stories and tag the account. Don't miss the opportunity for your business to be shared with a whole new audience that isn't yours. 10 - Now, take these tips a put them into action. Keep track of your results for the next month and see if you notice a difference. Let me know how you go! . . #thesocialquest #socialmediacurator #socialcurators #socialmediacreative #socialmediacreatives #hashtaghacks #instagramtipsfornewbies #instagramnewbie #socialmediahelper #smallbizz #socialmediaengagement #instagramgrowthtip #tipsforinstagram #instahacks #socialmediamanager #instagramstrategy #socialmediatraining #instagramtip #melbournesmallbusinesses #socialmediaau #socialsavvy #socialengagement #brandtips #melbournegirlboss #mumsinbusinessau #instagrammanager #socialmediamanagment #socialmediacoaching #instagramcoaching #onlinebusinessowners See more

19.01.2022 I don’t know what to say? I don't know what to write in an engaging way? I’m sick of posting the same thing. Creating content can sometimes come easy to you, and other times not so easy. If you’ve ever had those thoughts running through your mind, you know the feeling of frustration. It’s the reason why I created my monthly content calendar so I could help other business owners through their content woes. So you can plan content without trying to think of ideas, it’s no...t the same ol boring stuff, and you can write it in an engaging way. Next week I’ll be launching my December Calendar with 31 ideas for you to create content, and it’s going to include valuable information in it to help you write your captions. I’m so excited to share this with you. Like last month this one will be launching with 50% off. My mailing list will have first access before I release it to my Insta fam. If you’re not on my mailing list head to my website and subscribe for early access. What do you think? Does this sound good to you? . . . #thesocialquest #socialmediamanagers #socialmediaexpert #socialmediaforbusiness #socialmediaconsultant #instagramcontent #marketing#instagramtipsandtricks #instagramtipsforbusiness #socialmediacoaching #smallbizowners #melbournegirlboss #boobabe #aussiebusiness #australianbusiness #australiansmallbusiness #smallbusinesssydney #smallbusinessbrisbane #smallbusinessmelbourne #geelongbusiness #melbournebiz #smallbusinesswoman #melbournebusinesswomen #socialmediaau #lmbdwmelbourne #growyourbusiness #warrnambool3280

17.01.2022 Where you can get good stock images from. When you're on a visual platform like Instagram it’s pretty important that you have all the pretty pictures so you stand out, and stop the scroll. If you're unable to produce quality images yourself, then there are so many apps out there to help you. But, before I go any further I wanted to quickly explain why scroll stopping images are seriously important. Having quality images will get your audience’s attention, it builds your br...and’s identity and increases your engagement. Using bad images will cost you dearly, users will keep scrolling to the next pretty image and there is no way they will engage with your content. Below I've recommended some of my favourite places to source stock images. 1 - Canva has a bunch of amazing stock images. If you upgrade to Canvo Pro you will have more options to choose from too. 2 - Over is an app which is similar to Canva but, you have more options within the app. You can source images from Unsplash and Pixabay 3 - Oh how I love Pinterest. This platform is great for so many things. When sourcing images from Pinterest you MUST credit the owner for the image in your captions and possibly send them a DM asking if you can have permission to reshare it. Tell me, was this helpful? 17.01.2022 Don't let the number of followers you have determine how well your business is going. Well, that's what I’ve learnt. My social media management services were fully booked before I had 600 followers. Am I guilty for wanting more growth from my account, yes! What happens when I get more followers? Not much at all, I’m still fully booked, and I can’t take on new clients ... One of my goals is growth, and my main priority is ensuring my services remain booked. For me, that's of a real reflection on how well my business is going. Next time you start dwelling on those numbers you have to ask yourself this, where am I at in my business? Are my services fully booked, and are people purchasing from me? If you answered yes, it’s a true reflection of how well your business is going.

16.01.2022 We might be housebound but that doesn’t mean we can’t go on holiday. Since starting my business I haven’t taken any time off. We had planned to go away in May but COVID hit. Then we planned to go away in November and guess what? COVID struck again So, it sure as hell doesn’t look like I’m getting my holiday and I’m cool with that.... But I’m in a fortunate position where I can take a step back in my business. I’ll still be doing my client work but I’m taking a week break from my own socials. No liking No posting Just living life I honestly don’t know how I’m going to cope taking a step back from my socials because I’m going to miss you all! But, a change is as good as a holiday. 15.01.2022 The kindest words from an incredible cake maker in Warrnambool. I found @emscakeswarrnambool through Instagram when I was looking for someone to make my daughters a cake for her 7th birthday. I'm fussy with cakes because I have a bestie in Melbourne who is a cake maker, but Em lived up to all my expectations. Em later purchased my bio refresh, and we made some changes to optimise her bio, and it looks so good! I will never get sick of the saying that I heard from @shannon...mckinstrie, "Your bio is your billboard, and your feed is your storefront", so make sure you optimise it to the fullest. I am so grateful Em took the time to leave these kind words for me, but can we also appreciate the cactus cake?! . . #thesocialquest #socialmediafreelancer #socialmediamanagersp #insagrambio #instagrambios #instagrambioideas #instagrambiotips #socialmediatricks #socialmediaadvice #theinstagramexpert #instagram101 #instagramhacks #igtips #tipsinstagram #instagramtips101 #tipsinstagram #instahacks #theleauguewomen #bizchicks #ambitionista #girltribegang #mycreativebusiness #lmbdw #everydayextraordinary #extraordinaryeveryday #extraordinarylife #designalifeyoulove #thisgirlmeansbusiness #mumsinbusinessaustralia #mumsinbusinessaustralia See more

15.01.2022 You guys, there are many exciting things are coming up for The Social Quest, and my Content Calendar with 31 ideas is something I’ve been working my butt off for a while now. I couldn't decide whether I would do a one month calendar, three-month calendar or a six-month calendar, and after weighing up the pro’s and con’s and with Instagram continually changing I felt a one-month calendar was the best option. That way, I know, you will always be on top of your content game, an...d you will never be left wondering, what am I going to post today? There is no dull national emoji day just a monthly calendar full of ideas to take your socials to the next level. When I first started, I had little idea of what to post, and no matter how much research I did, I never found the answers to my questions, so this is why a created my Content Calendar. 14.01.2022 Wouldn't it be nice if you could build an authentic audience on Instagram? Well, you can, and I’m going to give you six simple ways. But, let me begin by saying, imagine your followers are your community waiting for you to build an authentic relationship with them. They want you to communicate with them like you're a real human; they want to hear your voice; they want to see your face; they want to know who you are as a person. They want to know why you began your business, ...how you started and what has been your biggest struggles. If you’re hiding all of this from them, how can they trust you and your business when they know nothing about you, and they can't relate to you? I’m not saying you have to share every minute of your day, but you have to share something so you can build that know like and trust factor which will then give you the authentic audience you truly want Here are six ways you can't start Tell your story Share the highs and lows of your business What goes on behind the scenes What motivates you What is your morning ritual What are your goals for your business What makes you, you And most importantly, you need to create conversations that are a two-way street. 10.01.2022 How to create posts that will sell your products and services. Let’s be honest, we all know how important it is for brands to be present on social media. With that in mind, we also know selling on social media is a whole different ball game When we’re selling on social media we need to be selling feelings and solving problems.... One of the biggest mistakes I see brands making is creating posts that have no value. They don’t speak to their ideal customer and they don’t solve a problem they might be having. Aka they’re too general. So, how do you create posts that will sell your products or services? Hold tight and swipe to see. Oh, and don’t forget to drop a comment below with which caption you preferred! @ Melbourne, Victoria, Australia See more

08.01.2022 When crafting your captions you want to make sure you’re not trying to write it all. You don't need to be funny, relatable, informative, valuable and have a caption which then leads to conversions. My god, how exhausting would that be, ha? Instead, take little snippets of those goals you have with your captions and create one post per plan. A caption that your audience can relate to, a caption your audience will find funny, a caption which will educate your audience on your... products and services. Does that make sense? In saying that, there are no captions without a clear content plan! Now that we’re about to enter into October this is the perfect time to start preparing your content for the month ahead. Suppose you’re stuck for ideas then my October Content Calendar will be the solution to your problem. Inside my calendar, you will receive 31 content ideas for you to create content. This plan is suitable for all businesses; it’s an instant download so as soon as you download it, you will be able to start content planning and crafting captions with a goal. All you need to do is click the link in my bio and then tap Purchase my October Content Calendar It’s that easy!

04.01.2022 If you're aiming to achieve a specific goal in the same way that everyone else is doing it and it's not getting you the results you want, then it might be time to approach it from another direction This was the case when I first began using hashtags. I researched and absorbed all the information I could when it came to hashtags, and a common strategy I came across was to create three hashtag buckets and split them into groups. And this never worked for me, and in the end, ...I would overanalyse my groups and get disappointed when I didn't see the results I wanted. Now, I could have kept pursuing that because that's what everyone else was doing, but at the end of the day, the strategy wasn't working for me or the accounts I managed, so it was time to create a new approach. And finally, I started seeing results.Being a social media manager for multiple accounts meant I could test the strategy across accounts, so I knew it worked. So if you’re in a similar position and trying to achieve a specific, let this be a reminder to you. If you're not getting the results you want with your social media, break away from what everyone else is doing and experiment. What works for someone else might not work for you. Don’t forget to keep track of your results to compare them to previous months so you know what's working and what's not! 03.01.2022 Having *time* is the hardest part of social media, especially when you're a one-woman team. As a busy Mum of five... my husband, three kids and a dog I *get* it. I know time is precious, but for your social media to be a success for your business, it needs to be a priority of yours. If you keep saying I don’t have the time for my socials or it’s not that important it’s the last thing on my list then you're setting yourself up for social media failure. You don’t need to ...post every day; all you need to have is a posting schedule you can to stick to. This could be three times a week, four times a week or even five times a week, come up with a posting schedule, so you know how much content you need to produce. What has helped me recently, which I thought I would share you is, I have changed the day that I do my content planning. Now, I do it every Friday. I set aside two hours, or more if I get interrupted, and I work my butt off to complete five days of content. This way I roll into the weekend knowing that 1 I have no work to do (I used to do my content planning on a Sunday) 2 Monday comes, and I’m feeling fresh as a daisy, and I'm organised for the week ahead. 3 My content is well thought out with a goal in mind. Because failing to plan is planning to fail. Am I right? What is your biggest struggle when it comes to dedicating time to your socials to create content? Let me know below, and I can give you some tips if you like?

01.01.2022 If you want to help your posts reach your target audience. Attract followers in your niche Increase engagement.... Then you need to be using hashtags. But, there are a few rules when it comes to hastags and I'm going to share them with you. 1 They always start with the hashtag symbol and they don't work if you have spaces like # this. 2 They don't work if you use punctuation, symbols or emoji’s (it’s spammy) 3 Hashtags won't work if your account is set to private so make sure your account is public 4 Don’t string too many words together #happyfridayhaveagreatday 5 Use relevant and specific hashtags. Don't go off track and use hashtags nobody will be thinking. Otherwise, it won't be found or used by other social media users. 6 You have a limit of 30 hashtags you can use for maximum reach on your feed posts. 7 Use 10 hashtags in your Instagram stories 8 Add your branded hashtag so you can promote your business #thesocialquest Are you still unsure about which hashtags to use?
