The most simple way to fix most of these is to elevate your push ups on a bar or bench so you can focus on moving correctly. We will PIN DOWN the "knot" or sore spot with our massage device, then STRETCH THE MUSCLE belly by taking it through its SHORTENED AND LENGTHENED range of motion. 06.01.2022 Nothing too exciting going on with training. OUTDOOR SESSIONS ARE BACK ON AT THE STRENGTH SHAK, HIT ME UP FOR INFO! I'm flat out doing 50+ hours a week at work. Finding it hard to balance work, sleep, food, training and relationships. ... But it's when shit gets tough that I need training even more. It keeps me in check. Have cut back my training to 3 days a week and am prioritizing rest and active recovery over heavy weights. I'm still focusing on force production, trying to execute on the speed of movement. 04.01.2022 4 ways to INCREASE DIFFICULTY of YOUR HOME WORKOUTS! 1.Control your tempo. This is the first thing to consider when wanting to increase the difficulty of your at home sessions. Use your phones stopwatch or try this metronome (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymJIXzvDvj4). ... Control your reps for 3-5 seconds on the up and down portion of the movement. You can also add pauses at the weak part of the movement (i.e. bottom of squat or push up). 2.Increase your reps OR Decrease your rest. If you are cruising through reps with a nice and slow tempo, now its time to increase the reps. You can either add more reps to the end of each set or you can complete more sets of the exercise. It may also be useful to use that stopwatch again, and do as many slow and controlled reps as you can in one minute. Supersets are another great way to increase your work rate during a session. 3.Add weight. This is where you would normally overload in the gym, however this is where you may need to get creative. Backpacks, water jugs, sandbags, furniture. Whatever you can use to add some resistance, will help to make sure your workouts wont stall. 4.Close your eyes. Now this isnt for all exercises, however pick a few that youre comfortable with and simply close your eyes while doing them. This can challenge your stability through movement greatly and make you hone in your focus. Closing your eyes can also give you a better mind-muscle connection which is very important in stimulating muscle growth. #onlinestrengthcoaching #thestrengthshak

03.01.2022 Getting the most out of your single leg work. The single leg squat or "pistol squat" is a really challenging exercise which exposes mobility issues quickly. One common fault is that people can't organize their body to shift back and will lose balance forwards. ... By using a small plate out in front of you, you can create a counter balance in order to give to some added core stability and allow you to shift backwards further into the squat.
