Lit2Go has an amazing bank of classic books that students can read or listen to chapter by chapter The books are all sorted into reading levels so you can quickly pick the ones that are right for your age group! 21.01.2022 Who doesnt love BTN? I can still remember the TV being rolled out every Friday afternoon for our weekly episode! Now as a teacher I love using BTN as a teaching resource, as they tackle complex topics really well! This term my school is participating in the Multicultural Public Speaking Competition, so Ive put together a list of BTN videos that cover content relating to refugees, racism, multicultural celebrations, Indigenous rights and more! 08.01.2022 Promoting self-reflection and well-being is such an important aspect of teaching. One way I LOVE doing this, is by using a digital daily check in. As you can see, its quick and easy, as well as private. I can see student responses, but no one else can. I used this system all of last year and it gave incredible insights into my students lives. There they shared heartbreak over losing loved ones, expressed joy at achieving learning milestones and every emotion in between. Thank you to @karinawells for introducing this to me youre amazing! 03.01.2022 Figurative language, as with many writing concepts are best taught through rich literature In this activity, students are provided with 14 excerpts from famous texts such as Shakespeare, Harry Potter and Animal Farm. Students then discuss and sort examples into their groups! Discussions were thoughtful and engaging, and provided amazing exemplars for writing, far better than any examples I could write!
