20.01.2022 I love being the parent helper! Who wouldn’t want to spend time with this bundle of joy? Well, sadly, sometimes it’s me. I tell her to go and play with her toys. Alone. Or give her technology. ... Because I want to work. Or clean. Or deal with another child’s needs. Respond to a client. And the reality is, I will have to continue to say no to playing. But not all the time. I choose to work. I also choose to be a parent helper for the day. Because both things are important to me. I’m a better parent for the mix. I’ve not got the mix between kids and no kids right for me yet, but I am happy that I make time for both! 18.01.2022 So I get asked what it is I actually do. Writing peoples stories. Ok, so that's just dates. And facts. And another fact. And more dates. A couple of pictures, right? Kinda.... but not at all. ... What I do is help people share who we are with others. Our kids. Our spouse. Anyone and everyone that we are more. Because we are more than just a mum. More than just a parent. More than just a a free taxi service. Because we had a life before we had children. Interests. Games we enjoyed. Loves. Weaknesses. Yes. We have weaknesses. So many. Because becoming a mum does not make you perfect. It doesn't make you know more than you did the day before. Or give you super human strengths to endure on little sleep. It just makes you blessed. So when I sit with my clients, I help them to share, in a safe place, who they are. Who they were. The things that shaped them. The people who inspired them. The relationships they value. And even who they want to become. I help them share what they see in their children. Their hopes and dreams they have for them. It's you. In a way other might never have see. But if you have ever headed into a bookstore or library and wandered around the biography and autobiography sections, you might have begun to suspect it. Because while you might be an outstanding sports person, innovator or politician, it does not mean you are a great writer. And if they can get support to share their stories, shouldn't others be able to access help too? And not just the ki...nd where you still have to sit in front of the computer for hours.
