It was such a pleasure to meet the managers from several... local IGA branches, they too believe in keeping things as local as possible because they also want to see profits stay in our communities. Australia is now a Nett importer of food, yet the best stuff is grown right here in Australia. As we import our food, wealth and jobs are exported overseas. There is also a huge added cost in terms of the extra consumption of finite energy and resources to transport food halfway around the world to save a few cents.
