25.01.2022 Another magic arvo on the deck enjoying a 3 Devils Chardonnay - paulownia tree in flower as a back drop Gilbert Wines

24.01.2022 Made our first batch of home made cheeses from Daisy’s fresh milk. Made some Ashed Chabichou, Persian Feta and some Quark. As a bonus the cream settled on top of our cultured milk and we’ve got some real cream cheese - I think . We’ll taste it for lunch and see what it’s like. We’ve just bottled the Persian Feta into Sunflower oil and some of the Feta fell into my mouth - mmmm it is good.

22.01.2022 Today we picked our big cauliflower - after taking a small piece to share with our guest, along with our roast pork we made 4 kgs of cauliflower rice which we packed for freezing for later use

20.01.2022 Productive day yesterday - carted the rolls of hay into the storage area - thanks to Tony for giving us a hand and driving the ute. Nice rolls - thanks Rick

16.01.2022 Today we checked out our local Orchud Reserve and found some lovely orchids along with some wildflowers and some fungi

16.01.2022 The bees are happy - they’ve found the flowering grapes

15.01.2022 Checked the hives this morning - will be harvesting some honey next weekend from both hives.

10.01.2022 Harvested enough tomatoes today to make some Passata

10.01.2022 We had a very sad day at the farm yesterday when our lovely Daisy passed away after a very short illness. We will miss her.

09.01.2022 We had some guests stay over the weekend - after enjoying a lovely roast lamb on Saturday night, they had an early start on Sunday morning to climb Bluff Knoll in time to experience the sunrise.

08.01.2022 Finished building the hive frame today after the inspection - next weekend we will harvest probably 20 frames, check the brood boxes and then lift, move back a little and place on the frame.

08.01.2022 Made some lovely fresh Halloumi yesterday which was enjoyed by our guests with a glass of Gilbert’s 2020 Riesling Gilbert Wines

08.01.2022 We have just opened the Double Brie - and OMG it’s nice. Also just picked our first tomatoes off our bushes - the taste is amazing

06.01.2022 Checked the hives this morning - one super is full so have added the new white one. We will harvest the full one in a few weeks - once the bees have half filled the new super. As a bonus scored a little bit of comb stuck under the lid - now draining in a jar

03.01.2022 Spent a few hours on Sunday arvo harvesting honey from one of our hives - all strained, bottled and of course tasted. It is very nice

01.01.2022 Planted out the first of our two year old oak trees - we germinated and grew them in the veggie. Thanks to Stephen and Kerry from @stonemeal farm for providing the acorns and advice
