24.01.2022 Monday 1st February is one week from today, and our Village team are having trouble containing their excitement for a new owner, new manager, new name and new/fresh start at The Village Preschool and Long Day Care!!! If you haven't returned your child's enrolment forms yet, please do so as soon as possible, so that they can be processed and ready to go by Day 1 next week.... 24.01.2022 It's Week #4 of Project 52, and while we are knee-deep in (about 90!) enrolment packages, it is also important that we make time for our PROJECT TEAM BUILDING: CREATING OUR VILLAGE this week! Our continuing educators and new team additions got together yesterday to learn more about each other with a fun afternoon at a Paint Party hosted by Paint Your Town, the Bago Tavern and our new Approved Provider/ Centre Manager Amy! The theme was of course 'Australian Native Flora', to ...align with our new classroom names... Preschool Flowering Gums Toddler Lilly Pillies and Nursery Wattle Seeds. 23.01.2022 A reminder to our re-enrolling and newly enrolling families to please return completed enrolment forms and supporting documents ASAP. We are quickly getting closer to Day 1 on Monday, and require the forms in order to allow your child/ren to attend. We don't want anyone to miss out! Amy will be following up, returning emails and answering questions over the next 3 days. Keep an eye on our FB page for last minute reminders and messages!... Thank you for your patience and cooperation in helping us to set up our Village! We're almost there!!!!

21.01.2022 We're almost there, but not quite yet..... We are almost there with settlement, almost there with approvals, almost there with enrolments, and almost there with our start date of Monday Feb 1st 2021!! Help us get all the way there, by ensuring your enrolment package is completed and submitted by tomorrow afternoon (Friday)!... This includes: - Enrolment Form - Birth Certificate - Immunisation History Statement - Direct Debit Form - All About Me Child Profile Thank you to everyone who has returned all of the above forms, ready to go. Our countdown is on... 4 sleeps to go!!!

10.01.2022 #Project52 It's week 23 out of 52, and we are connecting with our local and wider communities with WORLD OCEAN DAY on June 8th, and HUDSONS CIRCUS that delighted many families in our town over last weekend. Connections with community and an affinity for the sustainable preservation of our natural environment are vital to producing programs and raising people to ensure a positive future for our children and our world.... Join us as we explore these two events, by sharing your experiences with the circus and the beach. 03.01.2022 Wow!!!! All the feels!!!! Thank you to the thoughtful anonymous person who has nominated The Village Preschool for the 2021 Greater Port Macquarie Business Awards!!!! We are honoured and delighted to have been nominated after 4 short (and super-fast) months of providing our service in the Wauchope community!!!! ... Our team has been giving it their all and continuously 'upping' the ante and raising the bar in our standards, philosophies, programs and practices, and to have that recognised and appreciated is sensational!!!! Thank you so much! We will keep our Village posted on what happens next!

02.01.2022 This week for our Project 52 of quality improvement, we commenced week one of HEALTH AND SAFETY across the centre. While our trees, plants and natural playground are a beloved asset in our preschool, we also wanted to maximise supervision and of course ensure the safety and wellbeing of our children at all times. We have removed the overgrown bushes outside our preschool classroom, opening the space to make it more visible and usable. This is a work in progress and we are alr...eady planning how we can best utilise this space, before re-planting around it in alignment with our philosophy of the environment as a teacher. We have had updated and appropriate evacuation plans and signage installed, the correct fire extinguishers to replace the expired ones, and will commence a week of practice evacuation and lock down drills next week. Our educators have been updating their first aid and child protection/ mandatory reporting qualifications, with all of our team possessing certificates in both of these practices. Your children's safety and wellbeing are of course paramount in our education and care service, and we look forward to continuing to our intentional teaching about safety within our play-based program and collaborative explorations next week and in the future.
