25.01.2022 NEW. ‘Temperance Entertainment’ Victorian lantern slide, England 1897. It’s been some months since I’ve done any bar sitting - in fact the date was January 13th @manylittlebarandbistro. I’m not counting. Am greatly looking forward to the next time we can gather again in this very fine manner. In the meantime we can live vicariously through these gentlemen. 22.01.2022 Lost Illuminations Found an afternoon with Magic Lanternist Professor Mergatroyd! Wow what an amazing way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Completely immersed in the lantern world, we saw Victorian comedy, stunning illustrations of tall ships and some of the earliest animations. A feast for the eyes! 21.01.2022 Signed and numbered ready for framing. ‘Racing Yacht Valkyrie’ was a gaff rigged cutter yacht owned by Lord Dunraven. Valkyrie competed in races across the globe including the Americas Cup in 1893 but was only on the water for 12 months after a collision with ‘Satanita’ at the Mud Hook Regatta in 1894. I produce the candles on our farm in Main Ridge in small batches with the help of my friends @jaynecdriver and Courtney Paul. It’s laborious, messy, sticky but fun. We hope this is the start of the candle revolution as we move towards a less wasteful world. 11.01.2022 Suffolk Sheep Magic lantern photographic slide produced as large scale artwork. This picturesque landscape was produced in England in the 1890’s but feels perfectly at home 130 years later on the walls of a Main Ridge barn. Available as a limited edition of 30 in custom sizes.

My latest collection of Magic Lantern slides will be exhibited at the Merricks General Wine Store Gallery @merricksgeneralwinestore from Saturday 1st August for four weeks. From an era bygone, a time gone by, these nostalgic glass slides transport us to another world. All artworks are for sale in limited numbers. I once again look forward to bringing this latest edit to life in the wonderful space @merricksgeneralwinestore I hope to be able to host an opening event with details to follow closer to the date. 09.01.2022 ‘Study Of Swans On A Lake’ England C1910. Printed and ready for my upcoming show @merricksgeneralwinestore joining The Traders as part of the their retail offering. Reading between the aesthetic lines there is more to this image than the symbolism of swimming against the tide, going against the grain. The Black Swan Theory... A black swan is an unpredictable event that is beyond what is normally expected of a situation and has potentially severe consequences. Black swan events are characterized by their extreme rarity, their severe impact, and the widespread insistence they were obvious in hindsight.
