I had an interview however I was unsuccessful in winning the advertised position I applied for. I did win by order of merit a second position within weeks of the interview taking place. 20.01.2022 The value of reaching out to contact officers. A recent client demonstrated the importance of speaking with contact officers. This client was applying for an education role within a Queensland Government department. They had no knowledge of the content being delivered. My initial reaction was this would be a challenging application to be successful. However after the client spoke with the contact officer the role was clarified as more coordination and support of educator...s. Without speaking to the contact officer this information would be unknown. The result: Hi John, Just a quick email to let you know I got the job! There were forty two applicants and four interviewed! The feedback was that my selection criteria was outstanding!!!! Thank you so much for you support! I will be sure to recommend you to any future applicants. Happy New Year. J

15.01.2022 It is sad to see the amount of people struggling. Over 20 years I have seen this a lot, never to this extent. There are some opportunities that are arising for people out of work. 13.01.2022 Using capitals. This is a discussion we have had many many times with customers. This especially relates to position titles. Example: I am the managing director of a company. I have invested heavily in ensuring that customers are happy and written material is high quality. As a result the marketing budget is low but word of mouth referrals are very high. 09.01.2022 We are not cheap. A regular comment from clients and one we got this week. We are not a typing service, we don't reproduce what you say word for word. We are a writing service. For each client we listen, understand, challenge and ask questions for better content, and we write. We understand the audience, match this with your strengths and challenge you to provide a clear reason why you are best suited to the role. We deliver a document designed to sell and help you in a competitive process. We are not cheap, but worth the investment.

08.01.2022 What a crazy time. I can only hope that this virus is sorted quickly and we can get back to normal life. I have been working from home since 2015 so it is business as usual, same product and service. There are a few changes to recognise the challenges people are facing. My focus has always been on helping people. The hospitality resume package on my template store is now free, see the link below. Just select the product and there will be no charge. Download the packag...e from the link in your email after completing the checkout. Resume and cover letter prices are rolled back to 2015. The new price for a resume is $220 including GST (previously $265) and the new price for a resume and cover letter package is $300 (previously $350). All existing resume customers can get their resume updated for free. Simply email or call with changes and I will make them straight away. Of course the condition is that I must have completed your resume in the past. The person who conducted my interview said that he was overwhelmed by the number of applicants who applied for the job and to make the final five was a really good effort. A recent call from a client in Mackay has now resulted in a 5 year National Premier League (NPL) licence for the Mackay Magpies Crusaders United Football Club. 01.01.2022 Well the work anniversary has ticked over again. 16 years!!!! Approximately 1,000 resumes and Government applications per year plus tenders and grant applications. Some clients have been with us from the start and still ring asking about a resume or tender we did ten years ago. It is great to see people get results, jobs, more work, promotions, new contracts. Another 16 years should just about see us done.
