19.01.2022 Congratulations to Ms Jill Bauer, University of Adelaide and ASVO member. Ms Bauer was awarded the University Awards for Outstanding Achievement, Connected and Enriched Community Award for an academic or professional staff member or team for building a sense of community. Ms Bauer has been instrumental in running the Vintage conversation events sponsored by #ASVO which bring together Adelaide University alumni and current students discuss wide ranging themes such a writing a resume for vintage positions, career path from cellar hand to winemaker, launching and establishing a brand, working with media and mentors. #adelaidealumni #wine
16.01.2022 ASVO announces new regional directors and changes to its Board: Brooke Howell, Yalumba, will return as President for her second year and Andy Clarke has stepped into the role of Vice President. Dr Anthony Robinson is the new Treasurer and Dr Eveline Bartowsky is the Secretary and Public officer. Newly elected regional directors include Dr Alana Seabrook from Lafort, elected by South Australian members and Nadja Wallington from Phillip Shaw Wines elected by New South Wales a...nd ACT members. Richard Fennessy was re-elected as regional director for Western Australia, Tasmania and Queensland. Mike Hayes and Dr Mardi Longbottom continue in their current roles as general directors. The ASVO would also like to thank outgoing Directors, Kristy Bartrop and Assoc. Prof. Paul Grbin. Bartrop has made an outstanding contribution having served on the Board for eight years, seven of those years as Treasurer. Grbin served on the Board for two terms and has provided valuable experience and insight to the Journal subcommittee, the Journal Advisory Committee and also two successful seminars. 10.01.2022 Peter Leske, winemaker and Director at Revenir Winemaking in the Adelaide Hills has taken out the coveted ASVO Winemaker of the Year award for 2020.
