16.01.2022 The Brightest Star Cocktail Evening on Saturday 23 March was an incredible success, raising over $65,000 for our Paediatric Intensive Care Unit! The funds will ...be used to establish the Sexton Scholarship to support the development of programs and training to improve patient care and family support within PICU. Thank you to everyone who attended and generously donated to support our patients and families at MCH. A special thank you to Sarah and Chris Sexton for hosting this incredible event in honour of their son Oisin. #TheBrightestStar #PICU

Funds raised from this event will support the Monash Children’s Hospital Emergency Department.

09.01.2022 The final figures are in, and we are so very proud to announce that together we have raised an absolutely amazing $66,028 for the Monash Children's Hospital PICU!!! This incredible achievement would not be possible without the support of all our generous sponsors, donors, and all our beautiful guests who attend The Brightest Star Cocktail Evening last month! Together we have started something something pretty special!! This money will allow us to fully fund the new Pat...ient Family Communication Program. This program will share important medical information with patient families in a simple format that can be easily read and understood at a time of incredible distress for families. This will have a lasting positive impact for all families in the PICU. We look forward to sharing progress of this project and more with you as it progresses! 09.01.2022 The funds raised by The Brightest Star Cocktail Evening will establish the Sexton Scholarship to support the Monash Children's Hospital Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). The Sexton Scholarship will support the development of programs and training to improve patient care and family support within PICU. The first Scholarship will provide funding to develop a new Patient Family Communication Program. The program will focus on sharing important medical information to patient... families in a simple format which can be communicated and understood at a time of incredible emotional distress for the families. The program will be developed by experienced nursing staff, supported by senior medical PICU specialists. It will include a brochure with explanations and background information for procedures and scenarios common in critically ill children. This can also be made available online. Both development and implementation will facilitate involvement of families and PICU staff to ensure a lasting positive impact. See more

04.01.2022 How lucky to be surrounded by such amazing and supportive friends. The Brightest Star Cocktail Evening wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of the best of the best!! Words can’t express our thanks to Elise, Shae & Katherine for agreeing (or being forced ) to be apart The Brightest Star Committee. They volunteered so much of their personal time time, energy and resources to help us bring this event together, and we couldn’t have done it without them. Also a huge thanks to all our friends / family who helped us set up on the day - your are all amazing!
