25.01.2022 Hannah and Josiah are playing this game where they make each other sandwiches and they have to eat it no matter how crazy the combination. (This game was Hannahs idea, mind you). The game went a little something like this: Josiah: Eating his cheese, sweet chili and Tabasco Sandwich that Hannah made him* "Mmmm, I actually like this". Hannah: "Now it's your turn to make me one." Josiah: *Goes to put sweet chili sauce on Hannahs sandwich Hannah: "No!! You know I don't like that ...sauce." Josiah: "So?!, I ate your sandwich?!" Hannah: "Yeah but you actually liked it so it's different, plus I dont even want to play anymore". *Walks off. What have I created? See more

24.01.2022 Would you believe me if I told you I'm creating a NEUTRAL bedroom at the moment!!! It comes as a surprise to me too but alas, my eldest daughter Tahli (13), has asked to change a few things in her bedroom. This includes removing all colour apart from blues and getting rid of anything patterned. (Uh, my heart ) Thankfully she wants to keep her polka dot wall. Let's see how we go. ... Meanwhile I'll sit here and appreciate the colour and wonder that is Josiah's room.

19.01.2022 Well here's an angle that no one has ever seen before!! My beautiful kitchen! The kitchen is clean, dinner is in the slow cooker and I'm chiseling away at Mount Washmore (that never ending pile of laundry on the dining table).

18.01.2022 Once again, decals save the day! What do you think about this affordable and renter friendly transformation?! 260 decals later and this wall is filled (except for a little bit behind the door) and we have a fun feature wall! Decals available at @the.hectic.eclectic.shop. I was secretly hoping Tahli would choose baby blue as her decal colour of choice but she chose black and I'm not mad about it!

16.01.2022 The perks of being friends with me: when I run out of rooms in my own home, I'll come and style yours. Today, I styled Little Miss Gracies bedroom in my best friend and business wife, Ally's home. Ally is the proud new owner of my gorgeous @ohh.happyhome rug which used to live in my bedroom, but now lives here in Graces room and I couldn't have picked a better space! I brought some colours from the rug into this space by spray painting the picture frame blue using @rustole...um_australia 'Tidal Pond' colour (the same colour I used on Tahlis desk) and added some bits and peices from around Ally's home to create this whimsical woodland look. The colours in this 'Little Deer' print (now listed in our shop: @the.hectic.eclectic.shop) are perfect for this bedroom and this stunning artwork by artist @amandaskye_art really fits with Gracie's sweet personality. 16.01.2022 Well didn't the school holidays creep up fast?! We have some fun planned these holidays which includes heading to the beach and visiting some friends. What's everyone up to these holidays?

15.01.2022 One of my favourite style decisions this year was creating this floor to ceiling picture wall. Now I don't have to sell any of my prints. I can just load them onto these picture rails and hope they don't get too heavy and fall off. The picture rails are from @ikea_australia and cost about $15 each! (They're called MOSSLANDA) It's a cheap, affordable and semi-healthy way to remain a hoarder.

14.01.2022 Overheard Tahli say to her father today, 'Mum has been dancing alot lately but she gets even weirder when Savage comes on and we all have to leave the room'. I don't need that kind of negativity in my life. Which way is the dance floor?

14.01.2022 Sometimes this wall hanging gets mistaken for a curtain. I have hung it from a curtain rod but basically, this is a diy wall hanging using leftover wool & yarn I had laying around. I also bought some wool on clearance and used tumeric to dye some that I already had. All up this cost me about $17 to make. It was a fun little project and one of my favourites.

10.01.2022 Well we have returned home from a little holiday visiting family and friends. The kids had a blast, we visited 2 beaches and boogie boarded down the sand dunes at Rainbow Beach here in sunny Qld. I took my car off-road for the first time through the forest and and we had marshmallows by the fire. But alas, it's back to work! Speaking of which, we have added a whole heap of new brands to our online store over the last couple of months and I wanted to showcase a few of my faves...! 09.01.2022 Added a few decals to our kitchen window frames. I'm really digging them! It suprises me, the amount of messages I get that say 'Dont do it! It's too much!' or 'Big Mistake'. Girrrl, you know I'm gonna do it. Sometimes I don't even know why I do polls anymore. Also I've had a few messages recently asking how our counter tops are holding up after I painted them with the Renovation Range Counter Top Paint. Our bench tops to the right of this photo are holding up perfectly! I've noticed only one chip in the side of the counter. But on the other side where our sink is, there are alot more. I'm assuming from kids 'throwing' their cutlery in the sink instead of putting them in the sink like normal human beings. I'll show you more in stories this week.

09.01.2022 Perks of being single. You can add as much pink as you like!!! Can you believe 5 years ago, I avoided pink at all costs. Now I embrace it and it embraces me. My new bedhead from @adairs arrived this week and I LOVE it! ... I've had the same bed head for the past 7 years and I've been talking about buying a new one for years but I couldn't decide on a style or colour. I finally discovered this beautiful teal bedhead and threw my money at it. (I'm so glad that I did)

07.01.2022 There's nothing I like more then a good before and after! This month I've been working with @ikea_australia to reorganise my garage and although I'm not completely finished, I couldn't wait to share my progress with you!! This is only one side of my 'she shed' which will be used for gym equipment, tools, car wash, etc. This space is now equipped for me to become the master craftsman that, deep down, I 'think' I am. ... (Today I added a bench saw to my Christmas wishlist, despite the fact that I've never used one in my life ). I'm still working on the other side of this double garage to create an art space/kids chill out zone so stay tuned for that too! In this space I've used the BROR shelving & cabinets and work bench, SOCKERBIT containers (still to be labelled) as well as some other bits and pieces from IKEA, such as the festoon lights for extra lighting and that touch of ambiance, BEKVAM step stool (which I've painted hot pink) and the SNIDAD basket for our sports equipment. 07.01.2022 They tried to put me on the cover of Dogue, but my legs were tooo long. I loved this print when I first saw it, I had to have it.. I don't know what it is about Frenchie's but I just love them! We have a fun Frenchie sculpture at our front door, Hannah has a Frenchie lamp in her bedroom and now we have this fun print from @iamfy. Maybe one day I'll buy the real thing. 05.01.2022 Our laundry is looking pretty snazzy with our print from @iamfy.. This print was made for this space! The pink and the green?! Like whattt? I originally picked this one to go above our piano but now it's in here, I'm pretty sure it's going to stay!

05.01.2022 Trying to get your kids attention? Try talking to someone else quietly or pick up your phone and make a very important phone call. How is iso going for everyone? I would have thought being at home would help us form some sort of routine however we are completely OUT OF routine and at each other's necks. Tonight I had to turn the wifi off so the kids would listen to me or atleast acknowledge my existence and that yes, I do infact have the power! I've also washed the sa...me load of clothes for the 5th time this week and finally pegged them out in the freezing cold because I've actually run out of pants! (note to self- buy a clothes dryer!!). We've gone completely meatless because I can't be bothered lugging the kids to the shops to restock our freezer and such a task seems horrifying to me. Simple instructions like 'don't touch your face!' & 'stay away from that old lady' goes in one ear and out the other. Josiah also seems to think our shopping trips are his chance to show the world his rad break dancing skills he's been practicing in quarantine. Tell me I'm not the only one losing my mind?! In other, much nicer news- I have created this feature wall using DECALS! @moonfacestudio created these gorgeous diamond decals to my dimensions to help create this fun feature wall behind the piano.
