If you grew up in the 90s in East Malaysia, you most likely have heard of Sugarbun before. Before there was McDonalds in Sarawak, it was Sugarbun that introduced many East Malaysians to western cuisine in terms of burgers and ice cream. You can call it the OG burger joint of Sarawak. There are so many variations from the OG Kolo Mee, to Kolo Mee with black vinegar. The variation only extends to the limit of your imagination. ... Here in Perth, Kolo Mee can be found in a few places. The biggest challenge for us was making the noodles since there is no supplier in Perth. Weve attempted at making the noodles many times, and finally, we think weve got it right. Usually, the noodles are thin noodles, but for a change, weve decided to make it in a wider variation called Mee Pok We at KCH like to be slightly different from others. We will be serving our Mee Pok with Zheng which is a special soup that consists of pork liver, meatball and fishball. Normally back home, Kolo Mee & Zheng usually comes with a bowl of noodles with no toppings and a bowl of soupy goodness. So come and try out our KCH Kolo Mee Pok & Zheng this weekend.
