25.01.2022 The beautiful and hidden Kanimbla valley! We love it! Pic by @garyphayes.photography

25.01.2022 Did you know that the boulders at The Peak and in the Kanimbla are over 350 million years old? That’s older than the Sydney basin and the Blue Mountains!

24.01.2022 A big shout out and a massive thank you to all our RFS volunteers and firefighters from beyond. Contrary to what our prime minister will tell you, no one does this by choice. These guys and gals are sacrificing their time, sleep, work and earnings, family commitments and their physical and mental health in working tirelessly through the Blue Mountains and elsewhere. The level of fatigue among our local firefighters is massive after having been working on these fires for so many weeks now. As a community we are so very grateful for their relentless work and commitment. Lets hope we get some rain soon!

24.01.2022 We are so looking forward to welcoming our guests back to The Peak! From chatting with people over the last couple of weeks, it sounds like many you are also looking forward to getting out from the city and escaping to a beautiful secluded chalet!

22.01.2022 The view from The Peak this morning! No filter required.

22.01.2022 A beautiful morning at the Three Sisters in Katoomba! Lovely image by @dale_tilden . When was the last time you visited?

22.01.2022 A very happy Valentine's Day to you and your loved one! P.S. The memory of a romantic weekend away lasts far longer than flowers and chocolates... just sayin

21.01.2022 The Grand Canyon near Blackheath is one of the most magical walks in Australia. Have you done it yet? . Love this photo by @Farski_ on instagram.

21.01.2022 We love it when our little slice of heaven is the backdrop to one of the most special moments in a couples life together! Congratulations Kylie and Alex!

21.01.2022 The wattle trees are in full bloom on the property suggesting the Spring cant be that far away! Yeah!!

18.01.2022 Mt Victoria railway station is a must-visit in the Blue Mountains. It maintains much of its original charm (it was built in 1868) and has been featured in a few period dramas. Oh.... and you may see kangaroos hopping about ;)

17.01.2022 Our first Blue Mountains snowfall of the season and it was all over too soon!! We had only a sprinkling of snow up at The Peak yesterday morning, but some of the local villages, especially Oberon, managed to get a dusting. A great pic from local photographer Anh V H, taken at Parklands in Blackheath yesterday morning.

16.01.2022 Weather experts- Is this a lenticular cloud that we can see over the Blue Mountains today ?

16.01.2022 Misty and mysterious! And very cold at the moment! This lovely image is from @bluemtns_explore who will also shortly be publishing an amazing Blue Mountains Guidebook. More info go to lostmtns.com

15.01.2022 Looking out onto the Kanimbla valley! A relatively warm and very beautiful winter afternoon.

15.01.2022 Did you know that the boulders at The Peak and in the Kanimbla are over 350 million years old? Thats older than the Sydney basin and the Blue Mountains!

15.01.2022 This is the sign you have been waiting for telling you that you need to escape the city for a couple of days! We have a last minute vacancy for the Wallaby chalet for this coming weekend, so dont delay! Give us a call on 02 6355 2330 or book directly through www.thepeak.com.au

15.01.2022 The wonder of the Grose Valley! Most tourists and tour groups tend to stop once they reach the Three Sisters at Katoomba, totally missing the amazing valley on the north side of the highway. Accessed easily from Blackheath (via Evans Lookout Road and Govetts Leap Road) and also from Leura (via Mt Hay road which is a bit more remote with dirt road access and a bit of a walk), the Grose never disappoints! Searing cliffs, deep canyons and breath-taking views!... Do you know the Grose? If so, what is your favourite lookout?

15.01.2022 Theres a significant amount of excitement in the mountains now that regional travel is allowed! Thank you to everyone who has booked a stay at The Peak over the last couple of days. We cant wait to welcome you back to our lovely part of the world! We now have vacancies from mid-July so book in quick to secure your romantic winter escape!

14.01.2022 Does anyone else feel this way ?

14.01.2022 Its snowing!! Take care if youre travelling in the mountains today! As you can see, traffic is at a standstill

13.01.2022 An unexpected dusting of snow through the upper Blue Mountains and central west this morning. Alas, most has now been washed away by the rain (which was just what we needed though and very appreciated!) This fella was photographed by @garyphayes.photography

13.01.2022 Thank you Kerrie and Sean!

12.01.2022 Its definitely been a cruel summer in the Blue Mountains and so many other regional areas. As well as the direct impact of the fires on lives, homes, wildlife and our beautiful bushland, the smokey atmosphere and heat wave conditions have taken their toll on all of us. But thanks to the amazing work of our RFS and other support services, there is a good feeling that the worse of it is over for our area. The fire to the north is no longer a threat and back burning to the sou...th (just behind the 3 Sisters in this pic) has put a strong barrier to the fire from the south. Plus more rain is forecast for the next week! The Blue Mountains and Central west economy relies heavily on visitors to our area. Small tourism based business like us - restaurants, cafes, B&Bs, hotels, retreats and tourist operators, and our suppliers - have been impacted significantly, as have local jobs. So we would love you to come and support our area again! It still is as beautiful as ever up here and despite some park closures there is much to do and enjoy! Start planning your next escape now! 11.01.2022 October is a great time to visit Mayfield Gardens near Oberon. The entire grounds are open to the public this month and nothing quite prepares you for the grandeur of this place! Have you visited Mayfield Gardens recently? Is so, what did you think?

11.01.2022 Its tulip season! The annual Leura flower festival is coming up with some stunning private gardens open to the public over the coming weekend! Definitely worth the trip up to the mountains!

11.01.2022 Picture this! Rugging up and watching the last rays of the sun on the Blue Mountains escarpment before retiring indoors to your cosy fireplace and hot tub! 11.01.2022 At times at feels like were running a kangaroo nursery at The Peak! Pic taken this morning by one of our lovely guests, Theresa.

09.01.2022 Its been a bit quiet in the valley without any human guests over the last few weeks, so were seeing a lot more of our marsupial mates. This one obviously missed the memo about social distancing. Gorgeous pic by @tracydods_artist

08.01.2022 If only these walls could talk.... We're going back in time to early colonial days when many a poor convicted felon would have sat in these old cells at the old Hartley Courthouse. The cell walls are scratched and the sandstone floor shows decades of wear and tear. The Courthouse will hopefully will reopen soon to the public. In the meantime, make sure you visit wander around this beautifully preserved village and find out a bit more about this exciting time in history.

08.01.2022 Beautiful image by Andrzej Krawczyk of our rolling Kanimbla hills.

07.01.2022 Is there anything quite as romantic as escaping to a secluded mountain chalet with someone special? Late afternoon, looking out from the Eagle chalet.

07.01.2022 Love this image! Have you been to Kanangra Walls yet. True wilderness and truly breathtaking. An easy day trip via Jenolan Caves from The Peak.

06.01.2022 The amazing silo murals in the nearby historic town of Portland!

06.01.2022 More rain?? Has there ever been a wetter summer! (not that anyone is seriously complaining after last year's horror summer).... And all this rain comes with a rainbow lining! The many waterfall through the Blue Mountains - such as the Mine-ha-ha Falls pictured here - are roaring and truly breathtaking! And.... the idea of a cosy mountain chalet at The Peak to hide away after a soggy days' exploring is so appealing! Stunning image and credit to @yegorkorzh photography

06.01.2022 Another stunning autumnal afternoon, ahead of a chilly evening. We had our first frost this morning. The weather has definitely turned!

06.01.2022 Maybe we do have favourites... This lovely couple, Ashley and Brittiny have been regular annual visitors to The Peak for the last 6 years. Two years ago Ashley 'finally' popped the question, recently they visited the Eagle chalet again, this time celebrating their honeymoon! ... Congratulations to you both! We wish you a wonderful life together, filled with love, laughs and wonderful times together!

05.01.2022 Our chalets often book out months in advance so this is indeed a rare opportunity to surprise someone special with a luxurious weekend away in arguably one of NSW’s most magical locations at short notice. Book online at www.thepeak.com.au

05.01.2022 Did you ever get to ride on the old steam engine trains on the Zig Zag railway? Word on the street is the the railway will open again soon! Pic by @hanas.travel.journal

04.01.2022 Its like being in another world! The Bluegum forest, deep in Grose valley, Blue Mountains. . . . #visitbluemountains ... #grosevalleywalk #bluegumforest #anotherworld See more

03.01.2022 What a beautiful photo! Is it a image of devastation, or an image of new life and new beginnings? Already, areas that were totally charred a month ago are showing signs of new buds and colour, so slowly our bush land is starting the healing process. Well call it a new beginning ! <3

01.01.2022 How lucky are we to have Ambermere Inn as our local! Only 10 minutes from The Peak to one of the yummiest and most ambient eateries in the Blue Mountains area! @ambermereinn
