24.01.2022 'MEMBER MILESTONES' It's been a very difficult year for sure but, the circle of life continues !! We'd love to know what special things have been happening for our ABCRA Members around the country. It might be a new arrival, our next generation lttle Cowboy or Cowgirl, it could be a special Birthday celebration (21st, 30th, 40th, 50th or higher!!), it might be a wedding Anniversary or, even with the huge restrictions, you might have still decided to go ahead with your Wedding.... We want to celebrate and share our 'Member's Milestones'. 20.01.2022 Last night, at the ABCRA Rodeo Roundup event at AELEC a freak accident claimed the life of Bruce Green (Greenie). A long-time Member of the Board of the ABCRA, the most extraordinary Club Member of the Lawrence Rodeo Committee during which time he has given selflessly to his mates, his family, the sport of Rodeo and Campdraft, and the ABCRA. Greenie has always ‘been there’, always part of the Rodeo, out there making it happen, never asking anything b...ut always giving everything. A great bloke and a diamond in the rough. Generous in every way. We are all in shock and deeply saddened. The Board and Members of the ABCRA extend our deepest sympathies to Bruce’s family and friends. We are holding you all close in our thoughts and wishing you moments of peace and comfort as we all reflect on the life and value of a wonderful fellow. Greenie, you’ll be sadly missed by us all. ' Our gracious and heavenly Father, we pause in the midst of this festive occasion, mindful of the many blessings you have bestowed upon us. As Cowboys, Lord, we don't ask for any special favours. We ask only that you will let us compete in this arena as in the arena of life. We don't ask that we never break a barrier, draw around a chute-fighting horse, or draw a steer that just won't lay. We only ask that you help us to compete in life as honest as the horses we ride and in a manner as clean and pure as the wind that blows across this great land of ours. Help us, Lord, to live our lives in such a manner that when we make that last inevitable ride to the country up there, Where the grass grows lush, green and stirrup high, and the water runs cool, clear and deep, that you, as our last Judge, will tell us that our entry fees are paid. Amen

Once again they were first to the pay window with a 2.36 sec run at to win the Breakaway Roping competition at the 2021 ABCRA Rodeo Roundup at AELEC ahead of Teal Ayers and 'Project' with a 2.60 sec run and third placed Maddison Pearce and 'Elly' with 2.825 secs beside their names. 11.01.2022 Nine nominations competed in the Rope and Tie event at the 2021 ABCRA Rodeo Roundup but none were quicker than Adam Maher and 'Rough Blue Diamond' who stopped the clock in 12.065 secs to hold off the current ABCRA Rope and Tie Champion, Willow Tree Cowboy Heath Nichols and 'Pep Daddy' with a time of 12.367 secs and in third place, Andrew Duncan and 'Buddy Guy' with 17.05 secs beside their names. 09.01.2022 Two Australian Cowboys have qualified for the Wrangler NFR to be held this year from Dec 3-12 at the Home of the Texas Rangers Baseball Team in Arlington, Texas. Congratulations to Jamie Howlett - Professional Bareback Rider who has qualfied 6th in the Bareback and Ky Hamilton who has qualified 2nd in the Bull Ride standings and leads the Resistol PRCA ProRodeo ROOKIE standings. They were first out in a field of 29 nominations in the Ladies Barrel Race at the ABCRA Rodeo Roundup at the Australian Equine and Livestock Events Centre on Sunday and first is where Coonabarabran Cowgirl Emma Thompson and her speedy gelding 'Eddie' finished with a 17.775 sec run ahead of Katina Matthews's stunning stallion 'Filthy Rich 'n' Famous (aka 'Gangster') with 17.836 secs beside their name with Bek Robbins and Dakota c...laiming third place in a time of 18.31 secs. Just 200th of a second behind Bek were Rebecca Dines and 'Hotshot Doc' in 18.33 secs and completing the top five, by the tiniest margin of 3/1000's of a sec, Estella Martin and 'Roc 'n' Elvis who stopped the clock in 18.333 secs. 06.01.2022 The Queensland border was opened up just in time for the Queensland Cowboys to head south and they will return with the title and bragging rights after Charter's Tower Cowboy Jace Land and 'Cutters' won the Steer Wrestling competition at the ABCRA Rodeo Roundup on Sunday in a time of 4.215 secs ahead of fellow Queenslander, Townsville Cowboy Travis Munro and 'Brody' with current Australian Champion, Andrew Atkins and 'Jet' third in a time of 5.705 secs . Fourth place went to Wes Cox and 'Pronga' stopping the clock in 6.125 secs and completing the top five, another Queenslander and the second Charters Towers Cowboy to make his way to the pay window, the ever competitive Ryley Gibb and 'Brody' with 6.39 secs beside their names. 04.01.2022 The second day of the Rodeo Round Up was the Timed Events day. On a morning when the Rodeo family awoke with heavy hearts following the very sad news from the previous night, there was much sadness and tears as we remembered our great friend 'Greenie'. But we were given a chance to smile and perhaps too, given a reminder of why we all love this amazing sport. A sport that brings our Rodeo family together, in our wonderful rural towns and communities all a...round this great country. Just for a moment, as we watched the beautiful smiles on the faces of our littleist Cowboys and Cowgirls sitting atop, some very big, and amazing horses in the U11 Barrel Race competition. All the kids won, they won our hearts with their smiles For the record, it was Stevee Besant and 'Viper' who were quickest stopping the clock in 18.715 secs ahead of Franki Ward and 'Maverick' in 19.069 secs with third place going to Maddison Edwards and Roddie in 22.032 secs. Paisley Swadling and 'Jack' claimed fourth place in 26.028 secs and the podium was completed by Savannah Edwards and 'Woody' with a 27.289 sec run for fifth place But check out the smiles on some of these little Cowboys and Cowgirls and you can see why, for a moment, we smiled too.
