13.01.2022 I struggle everyday with mental illness... Some days are better than others and then some weeks, months even terms are worse. I personally have had an incredibly hard few months/terms mentally. My anxiety reared it's ugly head to the point of almost paralysing me when attempting to accomplish basic daily tasks... I suffered through it almost silently until cracks started to show. And after a weekend away in a gorgeous part of WA with NIL reception & beautiful friends I ...have realised that most of my anxiety comes from what others think of me & what others think I should be doing. Instead of being true to me. Never have I needed a statement more, and I am thankful that @kristypalmerfitness popped up on my feed the other day to bless me with this reminder. While I still have a LOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNGGGGGG way to go I am moving in the right direction and wanted to share this beautiful statement with any other #dancer #dancemum #danceteacher #dancedad that may be facing hard times and hopefully inspire anyone struggling to be true to YOU! I've loved being apart of @theoldperthroadmarkets community as it has really highlighted to me how revolting our plastic consumption is in the dance industry... Soooooooo Now that my eyes have been opened, I am pledging that The Active Dancer will be plastic free by mid 2020 and I will continue to look at ways of lessening our wasteful ways within the dance community.
