20.01.2022 Melissa Harte (1959-2021) The Australian Institute of Emotion Focused Therapy would like to pay tribute to our founder, Melissa Harte, who died last Wednesday, 3rd February 2021. Melissa was an extraordinary human, Counselling and Clinical Psychologist, psychotherapist, supervisor, trainer, mentor, and friend. She has left an enormous legacy, having transformed the lives of many through her therapeutic work and inspired a community of Emotion Focused Practitioners in Melbour...ne. Melissa developed the Extended Focusing Task as an approach for working with past trauma and is the author of 'Processing Emotional Pain using Emotion Focused Therapy' (2019). She will be remembered for her incredible warmth and seemingly endless energy for the promotion of Emotion Focused Therapy. The AIEFT sends condolences to Melissa's family at this time.
