18.01.2022 Well today was one of those days. Started the day with putting my Yak-55 through its paces. What an amazing machine. Interestingly it was designed to compete w...ith the American Laser 200 in the 1980’s. I’ve had a chance to put in some reasonable time in the Laser and the techniques are not that dissimilar in both aircraft. What worked in the Laser, worked well in the Yak. I’m looking forward to getting it back up to Queensland and developing a Show routine. The rest of the day was spent conducting Spin testing in the Brumby 610 for Brumby Aircraft Australia. The team consisting of Paul Goard, Natalie Goard, Paul Griffin, Phil Goard and Kieth Engelsman have done an amazing job with the aircraft and spin recovery cute installation. I managed to get they 52 spins over 3 flights with some excellent consistent results, and I would strongly recommend the brumby for both schools and private owners. It is one of the nicest LSA aircraft I’ve flown, and has some excellent stall and spin characteristics. More Spins tomorrow then I’m off home to see my beautiful fiancée Hailey.
