16.01.2022 Appreciation Every day me and the kids try to name three things we are grateful for. Our brains are wired to help us survive so often we can focus on the bad and what’s going wrong. ... You have to train your brain to see the good. That’s why a daily practice really helps. Positive self talk really helps. What do you do every day to stay positive? For me lately it’s more switching off the technology and more time in nature. I get such a better connection. What do you actively do for your own happiness? I can get caught up making sure everyone in my little family is happy all needs met as that makes me so happy but I can also lose myself in that. I’ve got so much better over the years but this last week my back pain is another wake up call for healing and self care. I’m still making just a bit slower. We so often look for external validation to make us feel loved. Over the last 5 years I’ve really worked hard on thanking and appreciating myself, especially when externally that was not always given in relationships, making myself important. So try this thank your brain for working hard. Thank your body for doing that workout. After getting super emotional over something others might find silly thank your beautiful heart. Tell yourself, Hand on your heart, I love you. Every day. This is a form of self care. Because at the end of the day the only person you are really responsible for and spend the most time with is yourself. //
