16.01.2022 Been struggling through lockdown not having any events to keep you moving? Now here's a great one to get you going again! Our crew are doing the Virtual Stadium Stomp...... WHAT IS VIRTUAL STADIUM STOMP?... A number of you have asked for more info on this event...which indicates to me that you're keen to join us! https://virtual.stadiumstomp.com/ I'll break it down below, as simply as possible: What is it? It's an event that you can do anywhere, anytime. Essentially you are aiming to climb 25,000 stairs (or do squats, lunges, walk up hills or get on your bike). These steps are equivalent of climbing up&down the 4 major stadiums in Aus. When is it? 5th July to 5th August Where is it? It's anywhere your feet take you! How do you do it? You can do it a number of ways: Count the # of stairs you would normally go up& down each day and work out the # of repeats you could do to notch up your step count. Add themto your tally Break your step "sessions" into multiple smaller "sessions" or knock em over in one big hit each day Example: If you have stairs at your home, then hit the stairs during a 5 minute work/sanity break. If you don't, do as many squats or lunges as possible in 5 minutes. Repeat this through the day. Add them to your tally. If you have stairs or a hill near your home, count the steps then take 30 minutes to walk or run up them. Tally the steps x repeats. 15.01.2022 ROUTINE Movement. Eating. Working. Sleeping.... Relaxing. Change can be difficult or easy, depending on one thing...ROUTINE. How much of your old routine have you maintained for each of the above? How many new good routines have come out of this world change? Your routine doesn't necessarily have to look exactly the same as before but keeping up some level of routine is important. For me, keeping up my regular schedule of Group sessions and Personal Training has been massively important. MOVEMENT Maybe you're moving less incidentally and struggling with compartmentalising home and work (given they're now in the same place) so you now go for a 30-45 minute walk before and after your work hours to not just get movement into your day, but also to signal to your brain the mental divide between work and home. EATING Maybe you're not grabbing lunch on the run at work and benefiting from being able to make more time to cook your meals at home. Maybe you're still packing your meals so you don't just mainline to the fridge. WORKING Maybe you're used to being in constant contact with a lot of people in your office but now have started setting up regular and more frequent catch ups/check-ins/meetings to keep yourself on track. Maybe you've changed to working in smaller chunks of hours to balance work and home schooling. SLEEPING Maybe you've been sleeping in a bit more or staying up later but on average you're getting more sleep knowing you don't have as much logistics to sort with the morning routine. RELAXING Maybe you have given yourself the ok to focus on truly switching off. Maybe with less external distractions, you've improved on hitting the stop button. Tuning out of devices. Revisiting old hobbies. Finding new hobbies that settle and focus your attention in the moment. What may be the case for you?
