A visit to Albany isnt complete without seeing The Gap. This is a rugged granite channel that has been carved by the Southern Ocean crashing into the coastline. Ive visited as a child and there was no viewing platform in those days and all I remember is my mum panicking ab...out my sister and I getting too close. In 2016 a new platform opened and you can now stand and have the ocean crashing under you 4 metres out over the ocean, 40 metres above sea level.
