We have found a little secret that we would like to share - our new home at 6 Manton has an exceptional gallery space and they are currently accepting Expressions of Interest for new exhibitions. We can't recommend this space highly enough! It ticks all the boxes You'll find the link to the EOI at the bottom of the webpage.

23.01.2022 The first sand is my favourite step in making contact frames - they transform from rough as guts with glue & putty and gunk all over into something that hints at just how pretty and useful they will be. At this point weve already spent many hours on them - sourcing recycled hardwood, cutting and routing the wood into shape, mitering the corners, glueing and clamping, then reinforcing the joins with slots of another hardwood (oak is our fave for that) & rebating the slots fo...r the springs to slide into. Theres still several more grades of sanding to go, then the coats of danish oil. Not to mention making the steel springs and the split backing boards, adding the hinges, gluing the felt and checking the tension. I guess I shouldnt be surprised that weve barely been keeping up with backorders for most of the year, but it looks like we are almost ahead! 20.01.2022 Hey Guys! It’s been a while, and although we’ve been quiet we haven’t been idle. We had high hopes of being able to announce our plans for the not-too-distant future, but there’s been a small out-of-our-control spanner in the works. We are busting to share, as it’s massively exciting, but there’s a bit more waiting patiently, so ... In the meantime we are still keeping the Analogue Love Alive - supplying chemistry & equipment all over Australia and the world. (Kinda surprised you’re all still mad for Cyanotype this far into winter, but we understand the Blue Goo is addictive A new batch of contact frames is drying in the shed) We’ve also been working on plans for an artist’s residency in the Mid Murray Mallee area. It’s going to be sweeeeeet

Well look no further, because we have A Sink That Big! Will fit three 16x20" trays, and comes with a handy stand made of melamine and some taps still attached. Removed from a community darkroom after half a decade of faithful service and now seeking a good home. Pickup in Adelaide - happy to make the white stand structure disappear if all you're after is the sink component.

It will take 35mm & 6x6 negs. Comes with a timer, lenses, 4x6trays, easel and a spare bulb. Please sing out if you can give it a new home! Its ideal for a bathroom darkroom & best of all the entire kit will fit on one shelf in a cupboard.

07.01.2022 We've just had a booking from as far away as Perth for this workshop! How's that for fun times ^_^ This is a super fun way to spend a Sunday and possibly make a bunch of handmade Christmas cards and presents, or make lots of lovely things for yourself. Cyanotype is one of the few photographic processes that doesn't require a darkroom so you can continue making lots of lovely blue things at home, whenever the sun is shining. Bring some flatish objects and your curiosity - we provide the rest (and yes, that includes dietary-friendly snacks and lunch!)

02.01.2022 Are you curious about film photography, but not having a film camera is holding you back? We'd be happy to lend you one from our epic stash of secondhand cameras! So here's our proposal: if you are considering coming along to our Film & Darkroom workshop on the 16th & 17th of September we can set you up with a camera that matches your skill level & film to shoot with it. If, at the end of the workshop you guys are besties we will happily let it go for a very reasonable price.... If not, it comes back home to us - you keep the negatives & photos (of course!) Here's an example. I recently found this Agfa Clack (and I don't really want to let it go, but how many cameras does a person really need?) - it's a perfect entry level, point & shoot medium format camera. You can keep her & her funky little leather carry case for $30. The best thing about the Clack is that it makes whopper 6 x 9cm negatives - entirely suitable for contact printing processes like Cyanotype, which you can do at home without a darkroom.
