24.01.2022 Hey there - the answer is YES. YES, we are still open and here for your pets (and their people) . We just wanted to let you know about some of things we are doing to keep you and our team safe. Here goes: When you arrive at the Pakenham clinic, please call us on 59 413 822 or the Officer clinic on 59 427 925 and let us know that you are here. Please wait in your car until the vet is ready to see your pet We will then ask you to meet our nurse at the front door wher...e we will place a slip lead on your dog and ask you to take your lead back with you to your car Cats or pocket pets will be handed over in their carrier Our vet will then call you and consult with you over the phone. We will then meet you at the side door to hand your pet back and we will take payment over the phone For those needing to collect food or medication, please call the clinic to pre-order and make payment. When you arrive at the clinic, please call and let us know you are here and we will place the items on the table in the Hydrobath room (entry on west side of building) for you to collect Thanks so much for your cooperation with all of this. We understand these are big changes and will take some getting used to however we are putting the safety of our staff, their families, our clients and their families first. We can do this if we work together

23.01.2022 It is coming into fledgling season and we are going to be seeing alot of birds on the ground and "unable to fly". Please check out the chart below, which goes for all types of birds. The main points to know is to try and not handled them and to make sure they are safe from predators and vehicles. When in doubt give us or Wildlife Victoria (ph 8400 7300) a call.

23.01.2022 PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT With the recent tighter restrictions being announced earlier today, we wanted to ensure our clients that we are still here for them. It is unknown to what extent our protocols will change but currently they are;... - Anyone wanting to enter our clinics must call from the carpark and follow receptions instructions, as we have limits to how many people are allowed in the building. - A face mask or appropriate face covering is required while on the property and must be worn at all times in the clinic. - Where possible, please pre order & pre pay for any medication, food or merchandise - Strictly ONE person per visit to the clinic - For clients who are not wanting to enter the clinic for appointments, we offer a drop off and an over the phone consult option. - If we are out of the 5km radius from your home and your pet is either sick or injured, we are still able to administer treatment. - Appointment bookings are essential. We know these times are scary and we would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding. Restrictions might get tighter, but they are to ensure that we remain open and here to help. And we endeavour to try and keep our clients up to date as much as possible. Thank you and stay safe

18.01.2022 IT'S ALMOST CHRISTMAS As much as we would like to deny that it is almost that time of year again, we can't ignore the tinsel and trees popping up everywhere. We also have our very popular Dog Advent Calendars in stock for $10.85. While stocks last. To avoid dissappointment, give our friendly staff a call and we can process your order and payment over the phone.

14.01.2022 IMPORTANT INFORMATION With the recent announcement from the Government regarding the possible closure of non-essential services due to the COVID-19 virus, we would like to let our clients know that we are doing our best to keep both our clients and our staff safe during these worrying times. Although we are trying to operate business as usual there will be some changes and protocols put in place to ensure we are here for you and your pets. We are currently unclear if the... veterinary industry is classified as a non-essential service, but we endeavor to try and keep you all up to date with changes if and when they happen. We know that there will be some clients out there who will be worried about getting food and medications for their pets, if this is the case, we recommend ordering any essential supplies by 3pm tomorrow afternoon. You can call the clinic from 8am tomorrow morning, or you can send an email to [email protected] tonight. Please make sure you include your pets name, your full name, contact telephone number, which items you would like us to order and its quantity. 13.01.2022 This week has seen a couple of days of hot weather, which means there is more to come once we hit Summer (in just over 1 week). If you own a Brachycephalic dog breed (see picture for some of the breeds) please take extra care with them during the hot (over 25oc days). Due to their compromised airways they struggle the most and are more prone to heat stroke. Things we can do for our pets:... - Don't walk them in the hottest point of the day. Get up earlier and walk them before it gets to hot. Or walk them later in the day once its cooled down. - Don't leave pet clothing on them. - Get the groomed. Some breeds like Bernese Mountain Dogs, Golden Retrievers, Samoyed - can benefit from just get their bellies clipped short. - Make sure they have multiple water bowls, place in the shade. - Outside housed rabbits and birds, should be moved inside when possibe. - If the day has been super hot, the concrete and roads may still be hot, even if the temperature has cooled. If you have to walk them, wait til the temperature has cooled and try to walk them on the grass and check their feet regularly for possible burns.

13.01.2022 We hope everyone is enjoying their long weekend. Show us how you spend it with your pets.

There is no fee to enrol during the first full year of operation. An annual fee will be introduced from 1 July 2020. 02.01.2022 UPDATE ON OUR PROTOCOLS We have had to make the hard decision that as of tomorrow, we will need to go back to you dropping off your pets with one of our friendly nurses and carpark telephone consultations with the vet. This is to minimise the amount of people we have inside the building for long periods of time, which will then help to keep everyone safe.... We understand that these changes may cause some anxiety but rest assured, these changes do not reduce the care we give our patients. Stay safe everyone
