25.01.2022 When events collide... Our current exhibition Wall Noise (open daily) and Rasta the parrot, our Tuesday life drawing model Lea's colorfully cranky friend who helped her model last night. Lite drawing is on every Tuesdsy. Just turn up and bring your drawing stuff. No booking required. Parrots are also optional.
25.01.2022 If you have last minute shopping please consider handmade and local... and it would mean so@much if you could@please share our post so we can spread the word about our little local shop.
25.01.2022 Got lots of stuff to clear out of the house but dont like the idea of strangers traipsing around your house. Youre on your Pat Malone and dont have anyone to "mind your stuff" if you need to duck away for a lavatory / sanity break during the day (or think you may go la-laaaaaa if you have to sit in the same spot all day and no-one drops into your garage sale). So thats why were having a collective Garage Sale for the Garage Sale Trail weekend on 19 and 20 October. With ...so many stalls in one place, we should entice a few punters to stop by! And there will be plenty of people to mind your stall if you need to go and eat lunch or pee or any of the other fun stuff :-) Were still trying to figure out how many tables we can fit in but we thought wed start the ball rolling with 8 tables on Saturday and Sunday. (and a waiting list for when we figure out how many more we can fit in). All these tables will be outside so if the weather is looking dodgy youll need to bring some shelter with you. Stall space will be $20 for a day or $32 for both days (and you can just move all your stuff inside for the night and get it out on Sunday. If youre keen for a spot on either or both days please comment below
25.01.2022 Just a reminder Life Drawing has finished for the year and will recommence mid-Jan.
25.01.2022 Dont get yourself in knot, go learn how to tie them instead. You never know when this could be a handy life skill (tying the kids to the dog, securing a load on your semi trailer, hostage situations etc). :-D Just a couple of more seats available in Fridays beginners macram workshop with Creatingknots

23.01.2022 Creative Hive Brain required! Looking for visual artists and creatives who would like to be part of a community arts project. We're gathering ideas and input and all that sort of malarkey and a bunch of brains are way better at this than just ours :-) We're looking for colourful art installations and ideas. If you have got some big colourful ideas that are just too big for regular spaces then comment below or get in touch via Messenger and we'll starting pulling a team of ...thinkers and dreamers, makers and creators together! (And we have no idea what the people in the team challenge picture below are doing but it looks like a lot of fun, which is what we're hoping this community art project will be too!)
23.01.2022 Weekly life drawing is on tomorrow night and tomorrow we'll have Kerri modelling for us - the Amazonian mother figure! To make it a little easier you can now book and pay online on the event page (sometimes you need to force yourself out of the house! sort of like going to the gym for your creative brain cells) We're also thinking about changing the time of these sessions to doors opening at 6:30pm to get settled and then more focussed drawing from 7pm (sharp) to 9pm with a shorter 10 min break in the middle. We'd love to know what you think!
22.01.2022 All that glitters... might not be gold but it’s still gorgeous! We’re open until Christmas :)
22.01.2022 There is no rest for the wicked - or those with creatively optimistic minds! Maz has decided we should have a garage sale event at The Art Garage as party of the Garage Sale Trail on 19 and 20 October. We're figuring out how many stalls we can for in at the moment so of you're keen to have a stall on one or both days then start figuring out what you want to bring and give us a shout (message the page or comment below and we'll put you on the list) Stalls will be a big folding... table size and we're tetris'ing to figure out how many we can fit in - both in and outside. They'll be about $10-$15 for each day. You'll be able to do both days or one or the other. https://www.facebook.com/GarageSaleTrail/
22.01.2022 The world would be a better place if more people drew more nude people more often. Casual life drawing sessions are on every Tuesday night 6.30-9.00 at The Art Garage 191. In the meantime, here's a segmentv grom this week's Channel 10 news featuring Jane from The Model Speaks - she's holding a workshop here next Thursday, 20 June. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=2800495303300948&id=198087696875068

Due to COVID restrictions we are not able to add additional places, so secure your spot today to avoid disappointment.
21.01.2022 Well that threw somewhat of a spanner in our collective works, so we've embraced technology (ish) and headed online with the life drawing on Tuesday nights via Zoom with high definition imaging and beautiful studio lighting. If you're keen then check out the events that are being listed on the Life Drawing in Mt Hawthorn page or have a look at the event page for next week. All you need is a computer and your usual drawing things (and you can eat dinner / snack / drink / pat your dog at the same time)

21.01.2022 This Saturday morning we're having another clothes swap at The Art Garage - this time womens' clothing sizes 16+, accessories and books! (We may as well swap all the things while we're in mood for swapsies). All the racks and hangers are there so all you need to do it is turn up with about 10 items of good quality / interesting clothes that you don't wear anymore and think deserve to go and live their best life in someone else's wardrobe! You get to clean out your wardrobe a...nd find some new pieces to love!! Check in your things from 10:30-11:00 and then we'll "ready steady SWAP!" at 11 o'clock until noon.

19.01.2022 What are you doing this weekend? Are you hitting the Garage Sale Trail at all? There are about 20,000 (yep twenty-THOUSAND!) garage sales all over Australia this weekend as we declutter our houses and redistribute things around and save things from going to the tip. So we thought we'd make it easier for everyone by having a big garage sale at The Art Garage 191 on both Saturday AND Sunday! If you'd like to sell turn up at about 8:30 ish and bring a folding table. We'll be... selling from 10am-2pm. We have some wonderful artists coming to sell their beautiful things - ceramics, jewellery, prints - some leftovers from a Moroccan goods importer (nomsss!), retro bric-a-brac, and showbiz offerings (you're not going to see a folk harp in every garage sale you go to). We'll have a bunch of space around the Art Garage so we'd love to see you! So come and see us if you'd like to sell (you can leave your things there if you're planning on selling both days). We can also mind your stall while you eat lunch or go to the lavatory and there will be space for people to try things on if you're selling clothes. For the buyers, maybe start warming up for your Garage Sale buying style so you can get allllll the things!

16.01.2022 Life drawing is back on at The Art Garage! We kicked off last week with Jane and this week we will be having Alabaster Ellie pose for us. Drawing is on every WEDNESDAY and starts at 6:30pm, brief snack break at 7:30pm and then we continue on until 9pm. You can buy a ticket online up until half way through the session (just in case you make a last minute decision to come and don't have any cash with you), or pay cash at the event.... Ticketing link: https://www.trybooking.com/BLIUT Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/lifedrawingperth To get you in the mindset for tonight, here's a photo of Alabaster Ellie just casually sitting around waiting for people to draw her :-)
16.01.2022 Life drawing is back up and rolling at The Art Garage - now on Wednesday nights. This week we have Lovely Lea posing for us. You might remember her from creating a gothic library tableau for us to draw last year. We've now made the session just 2 hours starting at 6:30pm-8:30pm and chopping out the big break in the middle. Grab a ticket for tomorrow here >>> https://www.trybooking.com/BLIUT
15.01.2022 Jane will be back posing next week for the regular Tuesday night life drawing session. She has *promised* to whip up a batch of mulled wine for the occasion, bring some drapery and a blow up mattress to do some great reclining poses (not too long for anyone to get bored or fall asleep!). She'll also be bringing along her usual playlist of chilled world music but will be adding some stunning Persian jazz music by local musician @Tara Tiba. We're aiming for opulence next week :-)

14.01.2022 Are you a maker? A seller? An artist? A collective of artists or bunch of maker mates with a pile of beautiful things to sell in the pre Christmas months? We have a pop-up shop opportunity at The Art Garage 191! If you've visited us recently or walked past you will have noticed that the Print Shop moved out - which Maz decided to fill with more Art Garage-ness!... However life got in the way (urgh! doesn't it know we're busy?) and Maz hasn't had a chance to get it turned into a shop. Yet. But she thought it would be great idea to use the space as a pop-up location in the weeks and months leading up to Christmas. The details haven't been finessed yet but the space is right out the with BIG WINDOWS windows onto the street. There's parking posies right there AND a bus stop. We have some clothes racks if you need them and 2 rooms that are about 8mx4m and 5mx5m. If you are interested in kicking off the space with a pop-up venture for a couple of weeks or a month then please drop us a line via Facebook. The price will be discounted to the usual pop-up space prices to get the ball rolling. We love a good pop-up!

09.01.2022 The arts and events industries, like many, have suffered greatly during COVID-19, but The Art Garage is excited to be able to come back to our community. We were so sad to see our window like this today, it was obviously an accident but sadly it was a hit and run. The repairs are a big expense with no income. To us it's just another reminder that we can all do the right thing by each other and spread kindness. We hope the driver contacts us We can't wait to see you all soon and thank you for your support.
