12.01.2022 Press Release March 2015 TAP GALLERY & WOMEN ON BOARDS INTERNATIONAL WOMENS DAY ART PRIZE... 8th 15th March 2016 Presentations Tuesday 8th March 6pm at TAP Gallery (please note change of address TAP Gallery is moving to 259 Riley St on the 28th of February) To celebrate International Womens Day, Women on Boards (WOB) will award first prize for the 2016 International Womens Day Art Prize at TAP Gallery on Sunday 8th March. Last year saw more than 150 entries in all media and was judged by well known art professionals. It was an honour to have my print chosen from the diverse and interesting works entered for the 2013 WOB International Womens Day Art Prize. As a part-time print-maker who juggles a passion for print-making with full-time employment, I was thrilled to win the prize said Kirsten McDonald, winner of the 2010 award. TAP Gallery is calling for artists to enter the 2016 INTERNATIONAL WOMENS ART PRIZE. We are passionate about the progression of women in all walks of life and its for this reason we have set up this annual prize said Ruth Medd, Chair, Women on Boards and sponsor of the prize Women on Boards is the leading advocate for improving gender diversity on Australian boards and work to improve womens access to, and opportunities to be selected for, board positions in all sectors. The prize has an open theme allowing female artists to freely express themselves in all mediums & genres. The award gala presentation event is on Tuesday 8th March 6pm at Tap Gallery when the winner will be presented with their award. All of these events are open to the public and all are welcome. The exhibition will run until 27 Jan...uary 2021 and our galleries are open for you to enjoy the artworks in person. If you are unable to attend in person we will have a 3D tour available to view the works. Liverpool Art Society and Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre are proud to present the 23rd Annual Liverpool Art Society Exhibition. The annual Liverpool Art Society exhibition, presented at Casula Powerhouse since 1998, promotes and celebrates the creative talent of our local region. The awards are open to artwork submissions that include painting, drawing, ceramics, sculpture, photography and mixed media from Liverpool Art Society members of all ages. The Casula Powerhouse Scholarship Prize of $1500 aims to support the development of an artist’s professional practice by providing the opportunity for further research and a solo exhibition in the Casula Powerhouse’s Marsden Gallery in 2021. Other major prizes to be awarded include: the acquisitive Liverpool City Council Overall Winner Prize of $5000, the ANZ Technical Excellence and ANZ Award for Innovation prizes at $750 each, the $500 ANZ Judy Pack Memorial History Prize and a new $500 prize supported by the Office of Anne Stanley, Federal Member for Werriwa.
