22.01.2022 Pre surgery fitness Ian Harry Parkinson In one week Harrry will be getting a total knee replacement, so we have spent the past 4 weeks greeting him fitter, stronger and relearning how to move properly. To give rehabitation every chance of success it is crucial to go in as fit and strong as possible. ... (These shots include some of the benchmark performance testing we have been doing so we can reference his progress post surgery.) Harry is lucky in knowing when he will be undergoing massive surgery.... We dont always get that luxury in life. Stay fit, strong and healthy to give yourself the best chance of overcoming illness & injury and enjoy life

16.01.2022 Come and Try our NEW TRAINING FACILITY at the Noosa Leisure Centre for only $5 in our opening week! (please like and share this post to your friends) Monday 2 Sep 2019 it all kicks off, so make a start for Spring. This purpose built space will enable us to do both 1ON1 and small group personal training sessions in an undercover outdoor area, with rubber mats and fresh air....... perfect for training.... As a bonus, flients will also have access to: Creche facilities from 9am to 11:30am Full cafe Large, clean showers and toilets. .....(Two groups of elite athletes have already got the jump and are underway, securing their time-slots to get the most out of the facility and my 20 yrs of coaching experience). The group sessions open for you to come and try are early morning, mid morning and afternoons, on weekdays. Sessions are a mix of movement, mobility, functional strength and fitness and are tailored to attendees needs. If you have a group of friends with similar sporting needs then private groups can also be created for you. 12.01.2022 Frozen Shoulders Julie Forbes (I get such a buzz helping people like Julie overcome chronic injuries !!) Julie came to see me last week with a desire to improve her strength and fitness (particularly cardio). After a thorough assessment and testing we concluded that her 10+years of shoulder issues were still very much an issue. During testing she was unable to lift her arm much past shoulder height without causing significant impingement and pain. .... This had to be addres...sed before we even started working on her fitness. In the following sessions we have started implementing treatment including stretching, activation, mobilisation and functional strength to retrain her shoulders how to move correctly with stability.... and most importantly, RETRAIN HER BRAIN that she can use her shoulders (pain free) when correct movement patterns are adopted. By the end of the last session she was not only able to lift her arm higher but reach right over to touch her opposite ear without pain. !! Julie informed me it has been many, many years since she was able to move her shoulders in this range of motion without pain...... soooo happy for her. I'm really looking forward to working with Julie and helping her break new ground with real shoulder strength and more confidence. Well Done Julie !

08.01.2022 Preparation for Derby Mtb Trip Quinn Askeland A few days before this photo was taken I was out riding with Quinn and he complained of tight shoulders and a significant pain in the side of his arm. We trialled a postural change on the bike which had immediate improvements and reduced the issues throughout the ride. We caught up a few days later in the training studio and conducted further testing to confirm shoulder impingement pain; Quinn flew out the day after this photo ar...med with homework and a greater understanding of the issues. The Result = 5 days shredding with his mates pain free. Quinn is now continuing to work with me to overcome posture issues and further improve his riding performance. 02.01.2022 In a world obsessed with control and predictability, make sure you get outside and get unstable. Too often I see people with a superb deadlift that have forgotten how to move. There will always be uncertainties as an athlete, no matter what your sports. If you learn to accept instabilities, relax and flow with grace need to fight and control diminishes. So grab a mountain bike, get outside, get dirty, practice movement fundamentals and have fun
