19.01.2022 This year one of my paintings "Variation No. 1 on a Theme of Preston" was a finalist in the Stanthorpe Art Festival. Wendy and I had a lovely night last Friday at the official opening - art, wine and meaningful conversations!... it's good fun.
05.01.2022 Well.. tonight I finally got around to it! I have been meaning to put some of my linocut prints up for sale on my Etsy website (called theArtybloke not surprisingly) Tonight it was the linocut print I did for the commemoration of the completion of St John's Cathedral in Brisbane. A lot of them are already sold but I would love to sell a few more!
02.01.2022 Thought I'd post another of my 'Variations' pictures... this one is "Variation No. 5 on a Theme of Preston". It hasn't made it into any artshows but I like it
01.01.2022 Several years ago I painted a series of five small pictures based on Margaret Preston's 'Aboriginal Landscape' (housed in the South Australian Art Gallery). "Variation No.1 ..." was the beginning, "Variation No.5 ..." represented the recovery after a bushfire. Tonight seemed like a good time to share the middle painting "Variation No.3 on a theme of Preston." This is the bushfire.... a painting of calamity.... but as bad as it can be, we know recovery will come.
01.01.2022 I was delighted this morning to find a good photo of a painting I did years ago. It was a response to some terrible land degradation caused by human mismanagement hence the 'rape' and 'crucifix' symbolism. It was acquired by the Stanthorpe Art Gallery in 1996.
