Posted @withregram @running.fix Run Happy... its Friday!! Very fortunate to have added a few new shoes to my collection this week, and my first kms in the Brooks Launch this morning were mighty fine! Its really beneficial to rotate through multiple different pairs of shoes, for a number of reasons, including increasing their lifespan, and reducing your injury risk. Below are some reasons why, and great evidence to justify your additional shoe purchases to a non-athlete: 1) Shoes get tired just like we do, so giving your shoes a break between sessions is really important - particularly if youre doing lots of mileage, running on consecutive days or doing double run days. 2) Different shoes will place different load on your feet, legs and body. Because running is so repetitive, even a subtle change can help to reduce overload and the risk of overuse injuries. 3) Shoe design and suitability is targeted towards particular types of running, so doing your different sessions in different shoes is a great way to rotate through your collection.
