20.01.2022 Well theatre 8 fans, we have another lumpy pancakeThe theatre is full of dust everywhere. Back to front and every nook and cranny. At least it is still standing but will need an army of helpers to clean it. We would like to open clean and healthy when all this lockdown is over but with holes in walls, leaks in the driveway and now this. I hope all other sporting buildings in the street escaped intact, we all have had it rough with lockdown but I am sure we will be back and Eighth Street will come alive again. I hope that people with damage from the storm are safe and their families too.

09.01.2022 Geraldton airport have reached out for our help in testing the response of various agencies to an emergency event. From the exercise, the agencies have the opportunity to identify improvements so that in an actual emergency, lives and property may be saved. The exercise will be conducted between 0900 and 1200 on Saturday 26th September at Geraldton Airport. The first 30 minutes or so will be establishing the Special Event Zone, a security requirement, recording invited parti...cipants along with setting the scene. The scenario for the exercise is an F100 aircraft has landed and the front nose gear has failed, and the aircraft has exited the runway onto the dirt runway strip. At this point, there is a high risk of fire and the passengers are evacuated from the aircraft. To represent the aircraft, we will have a large bus on site and no physical fire but a smoke generator of some sort. There are multiple minor injuries amongst the passengers ranging from concussion, head wounds, broken limbs and sprains and strains. This is where the actors will come to the fore. Each participating actor will have an injury card so that responding ambulance/fire/police staff can triage and manage accordingly. The actors will be asked to behave as if they are genuinely suffering the defined injury. One concussion passenger, in the confusion, will attempt to wander away from the scene, testing the situational awareness of the responders. A mix of ages, as in a real-world scenario, will be ideal for the scene. It is expected to complete the exercise actions by 11:30 and then to clear the area and relocate to the main terminal for lunch at 1200 noon. The actors are invited to lunch and also to join in the debrief session, describing their experience and, in particular, to identify if things could have been done better for them. Intending participants are welcome to contact Desmond Hill, Manager of Geraldton Airport or members of the airport administration team on 99 233 207 or Desmond’s mobile 0428 642 914 to discuss the event. To confirm their availability, actors need to contact [email protected] or by telephone.
