24.01.2022 As another Christmas arrives, I'm wishing you all of the best things that life has on offer. #theavidorganiser #christmas2020 #bestwishes

24.01.2022 Day 4 relocation: Roma to Emerald Yesterday wasn't very touristy. More of a point A to point B kind of day. We were really surprised at the greenery between Injune to Rolleston. It was so unexpected and lush. I spent a lot of time marvelling at the glorious RedGums. Such beautiful trees.... We stayed at a place called Lake Maraboon about 17k south of Emerald. It was HOT! like 36 degrees hot. Big change from the 10 degrees when we left Canberra. Had a fabulous site with some grass (which was very exciting). We ordered dinner which was delivered to our site at 5:30. Talk about service! Had a swim, watched an amazing lightning display and then had some rain over night so today it's quite humid - a taste of things to come I guess. Off to Charters Towers today. #theavidorganiser #byecanberra #hellotownsville #relocations #armylife #roadtripping #emerald #injune #lakemaraboon

22.01.2022 Day 2 relocation: Dubbo to Lightning Ridge. Today was another wild trip! Some of the roads were amazing, but others just about required a sports bra. This is the first time we have ever travelled on the Castlereagh Highway. Also saw some fantastic artwork on silos at Walgett and Coonamble (I think).... When we arrived in Lightning Ridge (which truly does feel like the middle of nowhere), we dropped off the hounds for a bit of doggy daycare while we checked out the #artesianbaths. It was REALLY hot and we didn't last long, but we can say we did something touristy. On to Roma tomorrow. #theavidorganiser #byecanberra #hellotownsville #relocations #armylife #roadtripping #lightningridge

19.01.2022 Day 3 relocation: Lightning Ridge to Roma. Today's roads were far improved thankfully. We have officially done 3 days of travel without my dog (Ronix) spewing (he hates bumpy and windy roads). Today was the first time that I've ever travelled on the Carnarvon Highway. We drove through this little place called Hebel and a sign that said Major Thomas Mitchell first explored the area in 1845. I reckon he was crazy because there is LITERALLY nothing there!... We did a detour after Dirrandandi and headed to Thallon to see the amazing artwork "The Watering Hole" on the silos. How impressive! It took 3 weeks to complete, 500 litres of paint and 500 spray paint cans. Next stop was the Nindigully Pub. The sign claims that it is Queensland oldest pub. Thought we'd have lunch, but got the times muddled up and missed out. Ben had a beer. Finished up the day in Roma with a visit to the dog park so the hounds could burn off some energy. Off to Lake Maraboon tomorrow near Emerald. #theavidorganiser #byecanberra #hellotownsville #relocations #armylife #roadtripping #roma #nindigullypub #thallonsilos #surat #madeittoqueensland

17.01.2022 Day 5 relocation: Emerald to Charters Towers Unfortunately today's travel wasn't overly touristy either. 100k to Clermont, then 160k to Belyando Crossing followed by 195k to Charters Towers. Another hot day, 38 for most of the day. The hounds are not enjoying the heat at all.... At the Charters Towers Big 4 which is pretty awesome. Great pool, grassy site and nice amenities. Best part about today was my lovely friend Alex went to the Local Business Awards for me. And I won the Sole Operator category! Woohoo! Bummed I couldn't be there. Big thank you to all friends, family and business peers who voted for The Avid Organiser. Only 135k of travel tomorrow before we pull up stumps in Townsville Big 4 until we move into our house on Christmas Eve. Big trip nearly over! #theavidorganiser #byecanberra #hellotownsville #relocations #armylife #roadtripping #charterstowers #big4 #nearlythere

03.01.2022 Day 6 relocation: Charters Towers to Townsville We arrived! We made it to our new home. We have checked out our new house in Idalia, spotted Zarraffas just down the road (very exciting and dangerous all at once), and checked into the Big 4. Took a stroll down the strand with the hounds and had a swim to cool off.... Crazy to think our big trip is now done and dusted. Now we wait til Christmas Eve til we can move into our home. Thanks for coming on this journey with us I promise my next posts will be back to organising! #theavidorganiser #byecanberra #hellotownsville #relocations #armylife #roadtripping #wearrived #big4 #madeit
